Fall 2026 Course Offering by HEI!

A historic division. A living dialogue. A path toward reconciliation.

Eastern–Oriental Orthodox Relations: The Schism and its Healing in History to the Present explores one of Christianity’s most enduring theological divides—beginning with the Council of Chalcedon and extending to contemporary ecumenical efforts.

Convened by Fr. John Chryssavgis and taught by Dr. Andrew Youssef and Dr. Peter Bouteneff, this course engages deeply with Christology, ecclesiology, and the historical realities that continue to shape relations today.
