The Joy of the Resurrection!
Pascha is the feast of feasts, a celebration overflowing with joy. Pascha is an
invitation to live each day as the people of the Resurrection.
The Theotokos who once held the Infant Christ in her arms now beholds her Son
risen in glory. The Mother who endured the sorrow of the Cross now shares in the joy
of the empty tomb. Her joy becomes the joy of the whole Church. Her hope becomes
our hope.
As we celebrate this radiant feast, let us pause and ask ourselves:
How will I live as a witness to the Resurrection?
How will I carry Christ’s joy into my home, my relationships, and the world around
me?
The world still carries many burdens. Yet we carry the light of the Risen Lord.
May Christ, who trampled down death by death, fill your hearts with peace.
May the joy of Pascha remain with you long after the candles have dimmed.
And may your life, in quiet and faithful ways, proclaim each day:
Christ is Risen!

Ἡ Χαρὰ τῆς Ἀναστάσεως!
Τὸ Πάσχα εἶναι ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἑορτῶν και πανήγυρη χαρᾶς. Τὸ Πάσχα εἶναι μιὰ
πρόσκληση νὰ ζοῦμε κάθε ἡμέρα ὡς ἄνθρωποι τῆς Ἀναστάσεως.
Ἡ Παναγία μας, ποὺ κάποτε κρατοῦσε στὴν ἀγκαλιά της τὸ Θεῖο Βρέφος, τώρα
ἀντικρίζει τὸν Υἱό της ἀναστημένο ἐν δόξῃ. Ἡ Μητέρα ποὺ ὑπέμεινε τὴ θλίψη τοῦ
Σταυροῦ, τώρα συμμετέχει στὴ χαρὰ τοῦ κενοῦ μνημείου. Ἡ χαρά της γίνεται χαρὰ
ὁλόκληρης τῆς Ἐκκλησίας. Ἡ ἐλπίδα της γίνεται δική μας ἐλπίδα.
Καθὼς ἑορτάζουμε αὐτὴ τὴ λαμπρὴ πανήγυρη, ἂς σταθοῦμε γιὰ λίγο καὶ ἂς
ἀναρωτηθοῦμε μὲ εἰλικρίνεια καὶ ἐλπίδα:
Πῶς θὰ ζήσω ὡς μάρτυρας τῆς Ἀναστάσεως;
Πῶς θὰ μεταφέρω τὴ χαρὰ τοῦ Χριστοῦ στὸ σπίτι μου, στὶς σχέσεις μου καὶ στὸν
κόσμο γύρω μου;
Ὁ κόσμος ἐξακολουθεῖ νὰ κουβαλᾶ πολλὰ βάρη. Ἐμεῖς ὅμως κρατοῦμε τὸ φῶς τοῦ
Ἀναστημένου Κυρίου.
Εἴθε ὁ Χριστός, ὁ θανάτῳ τὸν θάνατον, νὰ γεμίσει τὶς καρδιές σας μὲ εἰρήνη.
Εἴθε ἡ πασχαλινή χαρὰ νὰ σᾶς συνοδεύει πολὺ μετὰ ἀφοῦ σβήσουν τὰ κεριά τῆς
Λαμπρῆς.
Καὶ εἴθε ἡ ζωή σας νὰ διακηρύσσει κάθε ἡμέρα:
Χριστός Ἀνέστη!

Pascha is the feast of feasts, a celebration overflowing with joy. Pascha is an
invitation to live each day as the people of the Resurrection.

Blessed to share this moment with my esteemed and respected predecessor, His Eminence Metropolitan Theodoritos of Laodicea, who bore the historic title of Nazianzos with such distinction for many years. His Eminence’s wisdom and faithful service continue to inspire all who follow in his footsteps.
It is an honor to welcome His Eminence during his visit to the United States as part of the entourage of His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. These encounters are a true beautiful continuity of our Orthodox tradition and the bonds that unite us across time and geography. I thank His Eminence for his paternal love and pastoral advice.
May God bless His Eminence’s ministry in the office of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Athens and his continued service to our Holy Church. May Saint Gregory the Theologian intercede for us.
