Feeding Brookings A free food distribution every Thursday from 3-5pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, Brookings.

Following the example of Jesus when feeding the crowd with just 5 loaves and 2 fish, this ministry’s goal is to feed the hungry of the Brookings area. From 3:00-5:00pm each Thursday afternoon, volunteers distribute produce and bakery items provided by our local Wal-Mart and HyVee stores, canned goods from The Emergency Food Assistance Program, hygiene packs, and a food item of the month. The distr

ibution is held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2030 3rd St, Brookings, SD. If you would like to get involved with Feeding Brookings, you could provide hygiene items or food of the month donations. HYGIENE ITEMS include:
toilet paper
bars of bath soap
shampoo
toothpaste

FOOD OF THE MONTH:
We will select a different food for each month. Please see our website, www.feedingbrookings.org for more information. Bring your contributions to Ascension at any time throughout the week. If you are in need or are able to help our neighbors in need, spread the word!

Feeding Brookings is powered entirely by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly each week to prepare, pack, distribute, and deliver food to local households in need. From sorting donations to coordinating operations behind the scenes, their compassion, teamwork, and reliability help support more than 400 households and over 1,000 individuals every week. The success of Feeding Brookings is a direct reflection of this incredible volunteer team and their commitment to serving the community.

Feeding Brookings needs your help! With SDSU done for the summer, we have lost a lot of our weekly volunteers.

Please considering signing up for one of the following time slots:
-set up from 12-2pm
-pack boxes from 2-4 p.m.
-help with distribution 2:45-5:15 pm
-finish distribution and clean up from 4-5:30 pm
