Asalaam alaikum.

As you know, our children see Halloween decorations go up this time of year, and sometimes ask us about this holiday. It can be difficult to keep their attentions away from it.

Some of our sisters in our mosque have planned an event on October 31 as an alternative for our children, so they can still have fun, but with an Islamic-styled gathering.

Please see the attachment below for details. The event will run from 5-7.30PM.

It is family friendly, and we encourage both mothers and fathers to attend with their children.

Jazak Allaho Khayran.

Asalaam alaikum brothers and sisters.

Ramadan is fast approaching, so here are a few details the ISB Board would like to share.

We will follow the Islamic Society of North America's announcement of Ramadan, which is expected to begin April 2nd. Tarawih will begin the night of April 1st.

'Isha prayer will begin immediately after athan to save time. Tarawih prayer will be about 30-40 minutes.

IFTAR.

Saturdays during Ramadan the mosque will host a potluck and all are invited to bring a dish and eat.

There is a sign up sheet for anyone wishing to sponsor an IFTAR meal (other than Saturdays).

For any remaining days, you are welcome to gather in the basement and make a meal and eat together. The mosque will provide utensils and cups.

Please remember to CLEAN UP after using the mosque's facilities.

Any volunteers who might wish to help with general cleaning during Ramadan, please contact one of the guys living in the mosque or a board member to share your name and desire to help.

Jazak Allaho Khayran.
