đ© Happy National Donut Day! đ©
I love spending time in donut shopsâor really any place with a glass display case full of options. I enjoy sitting off to the side and watching people approach the counter. Their eyes light up, smiles appear, and sometimes you can almost see them trying not to lick their lips! For some, choosing between sprinkles or no sprinkles feels like an impossible decision.
Watching people make those choices reminds me a little of God's blessings. He has given us so much through Christâgrace, forgiveness, purpose, peace, and the promise of eternal life. These gifts are freely offered, but we must choose whether or not we will receive them.
The Christian life is filled with steps of obedience. For some, that first step is placing their faith in Jesus as Savior. For others, it is following Him in baptism. Sometimes it means taking the more difficult step of picking up our cross, surrendering our plans, and following Christ wherever He leads.
As someone who has followed Jesus for most of my life, I've experienced seasons of obedience and seasons of wandering. Through it all, I can honestly say there is nothing like walking closely with God and enjoying a relationship with Him as both Father and Friend.
The only thing that brings me more joy than my own journey is watching others take those steps of faith. I love seeing people "step up to the counter" and say yes to what God is offering them.
So where are you today?
Have you fully surrendered your life to Jesus? Have you taken the step of baptism? Is there an area where God is calling you to trust Him more deeply and follow Him more faithfully?
Don't settle for standing on the sidelines. The blessings of walking with Christ are too good to pass up.
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." â James 4:8
