To All DPSCD Staff, Students, and Stakeholders:
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time for us as a community to prioritize well-being, break the silence around mental health, and uplift one another with compassion and care.
At Detroit Public Schools Community District, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health. You are not alone, whether you're a student navigating challenges, a teacher carrying the weight of many, or a parent or stakeholder supporting from behind the scenes.
Let this month be a reminder that:
It’s okay to ask for help.
Taking care of your mind is an act of strength.
Support, resources, and understanding are available and encouraged.
We are committed to building a culture of empathy, resilience, and hope — where every voice is heard, every need is valued, and every person feels safe and supported.
Together, let’s end stigma.
Together, let’s protect mental health.
Together, we thrive.
You matter. Your mind matters—Your well-being matters.
With care,
