Our relationship with God isn't a one-way conversation. There's room for questions, doubts, frustration, and uncertainty. We don't have to have all the answers or pretend we've got everything figured out. We can bring all of it to Him, trusting that even as we wrestle with our faith, God continues to work in us.

Who is Jesus, really? A great teacher? A prophet? A historical figure? Or something far greater?

This Sunday, Eddie explored what Scripture tells us about Jesus - the Son of God, the Word of God, the image of God, and God Himself. He challenged us to look beyond the opinions, traditions, and theology to consider the question at the center of our faith.

We can't change someone's heart, but we can be part of how God reaches them.

Whether we're offering encouragement, extending grace, or walking alongside someone who's struggling, our role isn't to have all the answers. It's to be willing vessels through whom God can work.

As we wrapped up our Street Level Christianity series, Norm reminded us that following Jesus means moving beyond what we believe into how we live. When we put God at the center, we make room for patience, prayer, and grace in the way we treat others.

THE ONE THING: We are called to reject self-centered living while embracing patience, prayer, and help to restore others.

When our words hurt others, it's tempting to focus on simply watching what we say or trying harder to hold our tongues. But Jesus teaches us that our words flow from what's already in our hearts. Anger, bitterness, pride, and resentment don't disappear just because we learn to keep them to ourselves. Lasting change begins when we're willing to examine what's beneath the surface and allow Jesus to transform our hearts.

Our words carry more weight than we often realize. They can encourage, heal, and build others up, or they can wound, divide, and leave lasting hurt. James reminds us that what we say isn't just a matter of choosing the right words. Our speech reflects something deeper about what's happening in our hearts and how we're living out our faith.

If faith were illegal, would there be enough evidence in your life to convict you? It’s a challenging question because faith isn’t meant to exist only in what we believe or say. It should leave a mark on our lives: the choices we make, the way we treat people, and what we do when we have the opportunity to love and serve.

Faith and good works aren’t competing ideas. Our good deeds don’t earn us salvation - they grow out of a faith that is alive and active. Genuine faith changes how we live, how we love, and how we respond when we see a need. What we do becomes evidence of the faith taking root within us.

The One Thing: The good stuff we do is a symptom of the saving faith that we have.
