The ONE Thing: You need a savior whether you are running away or staying home. In the story of The Lost Son (Luke 15), the younger son AND the older son both needed the same thing...a Savior. The younger son ran away from home. The older son stayed home. The younger son's sins were evident and on the outside. The older son's sins were not as evident and on the inside. The younger son broke all the rules. The older son kept all the rules. The younger son was disconnected from the Father because of rebelliousness. The older son was disconnected from the Father from self-righteousness. Different actions, same results. The same is for us. Whether by rebellion or by religion, we all are in need of a savior...and his name is Jesus.

The ONE Thing: Come home! Part of the reason that Jesus told the story of The Lost Son (Luke 15) was to say that every person has to "come home" back to God, the Father. No matter how many bad decisions we make, there is one that can set us right: coming home to God our father. So if you've been far from God, the invitation is for you to come home.
