Helping Hands of Corpus Christi Parish All are welcome to participate at any level—come when you can and give what you can. Interested in “lending a hand”? You are always welcome. All are welcome.

Since 2015, Helping Hands has supported the Pittsburgh community through outreach efforts including monthly sandwich making, “Backpack Blessings” for local students, Monday outreach with On The Line, Senior Group, family volunteer builds, the parish Angel Tree, and other parish and community support projects. HELPING HANDS MONTHLY EVENTS

*EVERY MONDAY at Allegheny Commons Park on Pittsburgh’s North Side*
Helping Hands members joins the "On the Line" ecumenical group to help prepare and distribute food and other necessities to those in need.

*2nd WEDNESDAY of each month at 10AM, St. Barbara Hall*
- Monthly Helping Hands Meeting to discuss and plan activities.
- Sandwich making to support Jubilee Kitchen in Pittsburgh and The Bread Basket in Weirton, WV.
- Backpack Blessings assembly to help students who need weekend food support from Chartiers Valley and South Fayette Primary and Intermediate Schools

*2nd FRIDAY of each month at 10AM, St. Barbara Hall*
Monthly Senior Group gathering: Come for food, friendship, and fun. Monthly rotating activities.

*Last SATURDAY of each month, 9:30AM at Holy Child School Caferteria* (unless noted otherwise due to holidays)
Family Lunch Bag Build to support the Red Door. Not a drop-off event (youth must be supervise day parent/guardian).

30+ attended the Corpus Christi Helping Hands meeting on April 8, 2026. 950 sandwiches were prepared for distribution along with 150 Blessing Backpacks that were delivered to local primary and intermediate schools. The final Backpack Blessings for the 2025/2026 school year will be prepared and distributed at our next meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in St Barbara Hall. Those in attendance voted to provide a monetary donation to the Southwest Meals on Wheels located in Bridgeville Manor to help defray new monthly costs to their ongoing ministry.

Creativity was on the menu at the Corpus Christi Senior Group meeting on April 10, 2026. Attendees created festive spring hats followed by a delicious tea consisting of chicken salad, ham salad, cucumber tea sandwiches along with desserts and of course assorted teas. A bit of mischief was present when the group picture was taken. Can you identify those behind the hats? The next Senior Group Meeting will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barbara Hall. The group will be making Marian gardens. All seniors 55+ are welcome. 👒🌸🌹🎀

A donation of pantry items was provided to Miracle League of South Hills for the Casey's Clubhouse refreshment stand in Upper St. Clair. Miracle League athletes work the refreshment stand as part of the Next Inning Job Training program. ⚾️🧢🍿🌭

The Corpus Christi Lenten journey continued with the delivery of 150 lunch bags and 300 sandwiches to The Red Door along with 80 bulk items to stock their food pantry.

Additionally, complete Easter dinners including ham, potatoes, vegetables and all the fixings as well as ingredients to make Ambrosia salad (and of course eggs) were delivered to 3 families in our community.

Food, friendship and fun was the focus on March 13, 2026 when the Corpus Christi Senior Group met to make Easter treats. 15+ seniors tapped in to their inner child to create delicious chocolate covered Oreos, cake bomb pops and assorted Easter candies. Cupcakes and donut holes provided by Dunkin Donuts were available for an early morning treat. Thanks to the wonderful volunteers who gathered and prepared all the ingredients. A tea party will be held at the Senior Group on April 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barbara Hall. 🐰🐣🍫

The stormy weather did not hamper attendance at the March 11th Helping Hands meeting. Over 1,000 sandwiches were made to be delivered to Jubilee Kitchen and Weirton Breadbasket. Additionally, 152 Backpack Blessings were prepared and delivered to local schools. Afterward a short meeting was held to discuss ongoing and potential donation opportunities.

Thanks to all who attended. Our next meeting will be held on April 8, 2026 at 10:00 in St. Barbara Hall. All are welcome.
