Today is the Feast of the Exhaltation of the Holy Cross. Why have a day set aside to celebrate the crucifixion in this manner? Well as the liturgical season follows the seasons (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) the days are growing shorter and the nights longer - the Church places this Feast here as a reminder that darkness does not get the final word - the Light of the World overcomes! Lift hight the Cross today and celebrate the Victory Christ has won in your life!
