Acts 20:35
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Bethany Church has always had a wonderful volunteer base when it came to different service projects and events, such as Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh. Not everyone can or is able to take time away
from home responsibilities and head to another state or country and do work abroad. So if you are one of those who want to help and get involved, we here at Bethany are looking at starting up a service team that will work within and without of our own church community and assist each other where ever that may be. The idea is similar to that of Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, where we as volunteers will go into a home and take care of basic needs or repairs, everything from yard work, painting, basic repairs, moving etc. We have a data base of our members and their skill levels, talents and areas of interest. If you feel you would like to be a part of that data base which we call “Bethany Helping Hands”, let us know. As the need arises, we will pull from our resources and coordinate a volunteer effort to take care of the task. In the past we have had people contact the church for basic repair needs or yard work and we unable to refer them or assist them in their need. This project will be an ongoing program offered at Bethany, there are no age restrictions or financial qualifications for us to help. Whether it is a need you have or a desire to volunteer and help out, please take the time and fill out the form and return it to the church office. If you should have any questions or concerns regarding our Bethany Helping Hands program, or if you have a need, please do not hesitate to contact the church office at 412-221-5132 or Caroline B.
