Interfaith Clergy Network / Jewish Lifecycle Services

Interfaith Clergy Network / Jewish Lifecycle Services Established in 1971, the Interfaith Clergy Network is a group of seminary educated, compassionate, and highly experienced Jewish and Christian clergy.

Now over 50 years ago, Rabbi Shimon L. Berris, of blessed memory (2020) from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and his close friend and colleague, Reverend Justin Herbst, of blessed memory (2005), a Roman Catholic priest from Mount Holly, began to fulfill a mutual calling outside of the accepted institutional parameters of their individual faith communities. They recognized the opportunity to assist familie

s by co-officiating together at inter-religious life cycle celebrations and events. Since the inception of the Interfaith Clergy Network, our Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant clergy have officiated at thousands of Wedding ceremonies, Blessing, Naming, and Baptism ceremonies, Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebrations, and Memorial Services throughout the United States and in several other countries as well. Now directed by Cantor Neil A. Berris, our 23 current clergy associates are all seminary educated, with years of compassionate service and experience in synagogues, temples, parishes, congregations, and chaplaincies. With decades of pulpit, educational, youth and adult camping, and administrative experience, Cantor Berris is honored to offer your family his personal attention and sensitive approach in officiating at all life cycle rites and ceremonies of the Jewish faith, and together with any of our Christian colleagues or a priest, pastor, or minister, that you have chosen for your celebration.

A most beautiful Bat Mitzvah celebration for Madeleine “Maddie” Harper Scheck at her family’s lovely home in the heart of Dix Hills on LI 🌞! A magnificent Shabbat to remember as Maddie and Cantor Neil Berris led our service… she delighted us with a perfect chanting of her Torah portion, Be’ha’a’lotcha, bringing the brilliance of the ancient Menorah 🕎 as described in the opening verses to family and friends who gathered to embrace this accomplished young woman with their love and excitement! Mazal Tov to devoted parents, Evan and Andrea, younger sister, Riley, honored grandparents, and everyone present on this joyful occasion! 🌻

A mere 3 years following their magnificent wedding celebration at The St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, Cantor Neil Berris was again invited to preside over the most beautiful Naming ceremony for Sendre and Arthur’s exquisite daughter, Lily Rose at the historic Community Synagogue 🕍 in Sands Point on Long Island’s iconic North Shore! With the participation of all Lily’s loving grandparents and many family friends, pink was the color of the day as Lily Rose was given the Hebrew name “Chana Bat Kohen” at our gathering in the warmth and serenity of this Chapel. Lily’s 1st birthday 🎂 celebration continued at the Westbury Manor - Mazal Tov and congratulations to this fabulous Mish’pacha on a perfect Spring morning! 🌻

Julia Rae Cetta and Jordan Adam Brodsky brought their loving families and amazing friends to the historic and most elegant Glen Head Country Club on LI’s North Shore for their fabulous and very traditional wedding celebration ✡️! Officiated by Cantor Neil Berris, who incidentally had led the B’note Mitzvah service for Julia and her sister at the Commack Jewish Center… a magnificent lucite and floral Chuppah framed the vista of perfectly manicured fairways and greens ⛳️. Grandma Selma had the distinct honor of completing the letter ״ק״ in Julia and Jordan’s beautiful papercut Ketubah, witnessed by family friends, Danielle and Henry! Mazal Tov and congratulations to our newest husband and wife! 🫶🥂
