On May 14, Bishop Kagan celebrated the annual Blue Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Bismarck. The Blue Mass has become a tradition in which the local community gathers to celebrate and thank those who serve their community as police officers, firefighters, emergency responders and 911 dispatchers as well as to offer prayers to God for their continued protection. The name comes from the traditional uniform color associated with law enforcement.
