The Bismarck Diocese is hiring a Director of Communications and Media Services. This person serves as the official spokesperson for the bishop and oversees the communication needs of the diocese and resources required. Primary duties include: planning, developing and implementing media strategies to transmit diocesan news and information to the people throughout the diocese using assorted media platforms such as print, website, social media, video and photos; seeking, writing and editing material for the Dakota Catholic Action (DCA) diocesan monthly magazine and other digital platforms; managing the content and updates of the diocesan website and internal communications to clergy and parishes; maintaining effective working relationships with parishes, schools and other entities affiliated with the diocese; fielding calls from the external news media and facilitating interview requests. Join in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul 5K Friends of the Poor Walk on Sunday, Sept. 27. The walk begins at the Sertoma Park Community Center in Bismarck at 4 p.m. Registration is at 3:30 p.m., or you may pre-register at svdpbismarck.org. This is a noncompetitive walk/run to raise money for the poor in our local community. The Cathedral Knights of Columbus will provide a picnic lunch following the walk. There is no registration fee, but free will donations are much appreciated.

Are you or someone you know struggling in a marriage? The diocesan program for troubled marriages called Corazon (Spanish for heart) is available the weekend of Sept. 25-27. Couples who may be in a marriage in crisis are encouraged to attend a weekend. All confidences are kept and privacy for anyone inquiring about or attending a Corazon weekend is a priority. 🇨🇦 International Peace Garden Mass Aug. 16 🇺🇸
All are welcome to the International Peace Garden Mass on Sunday, Aug. 16 at the Burdick Auditorium for the Performing Arts at the music camp (park pass required). The celebrant is Archbishop Murray Chatlain from the Archdiocese of Winnipeg. The rosary in five languages starts at 11:30 a.m. The celebration of the Mass for peace follows the rosary. There will be a catered lunch after Mass for a cost of $20 (age 12 and under eat free). The International Peace Garden Mass was started in 1960 and held annually until Covid, then started up again in 2024.
