We are overjoyed to share that Katharina’s brain surgery was a tremendous success yesterday! ✨

The surgeon had been concerned that she might need a blood transfusion, but thankfully, that was not necessary. He reported that she is responding very well, remains stable, and is showing normal reflexes so far. 🧠

We are incredibly grateful for all of your prayers, support, and donations. Because of your generosity and kindness, this sweet little girl was able to receive the life saving surgery she needed. We truly cannot thank you enough. 🙌

Please continue to keep Katharina in your prayers as she begins her recovery and healing journey. We are praying for a smooth, speedy recovery and continued positive progress. 🙏

Help Save Baby Katharina’s Life 💗

Just 8 weeks ago, little Katharina was born in a small village here in Mexico. Last week, her parents brought her to us desperately searching for answers. They knew something was wrong, but no one understood the severity of her condition.

After evaluation, doctors confirmed that Katharina is suffering from meningoencephalocele and Arnold-Chiari Malformation Type 3, an extremely rare and severe congenital condition that involves a low occipital encephalocele (a sac like protrusion of the brain and it’s membranes) herniate through a opening in the back of the skull. Without urgent surgery, her chances of survival and living a normal life are heartbreaking low.🧠

For the past week, we have been working tirelessly to make this life-changing surgery possible for her. There is hope but we need your help!

Katharina urgently needs brain surgery, and the total cost is $7,000 USD. We must raise the funds by next Friday to give this precious baby a fighting chance at life. The doctors impressed on us that the sooner surgery is performed the better the outcome, which is why we’ve scheduled the surgery for next week and are stepping forward in faith that the funds will come in! 🙌

No child should have to suffer because treatment is out of reach. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Katharina one step closer to surgery, healing, and the future she deserves.

Nela brings a calm, steady presence to every space she enters—
When she’s not supporting families, you’ll likely find her tending to her many fancy cats (she’s quite the cat breeder!), spending time in her garden, or preserving the harvest through canning.
Sundays are especially meaningful to her, often spent visiting family and staying connected to the people she loves most.

Soft-spoken, sweet, and consistently calm, Nela embodies the gentle steadiness that makes her such a trusted part of our team.

Every day, we're invited into sacred moments—the anticipation of new life, the strength of laboring mothers, the first breath of a newborn, the tears of joy when a family becomes complete.
But what makes this work truly meaningful is knowing that for many of the families we serve, this level of care would be out of reach without our centers.
We serve communities where:
Quality maternal care is often unaffordable
Distance to hospitals creates dangerous barriers
Cultural and language differences make healthcare intimidating
Previous negative experiences have left mothers fearful
Financial limitations force impossible choices
These families don't just need medical care—they need dignity, respect, compassionate support, and the assurance that they matter.
