Father God,

Headlines coming out of our schools in recent weeks leave our hearts burdened and heavy. We come to you in prayer, knowing that you are a good and loving God, always near, and the Comforter of the broken-hearted and weary.

Father, please show yourself to every student, teacher, school staff member, and parent who is hurting, anxious, or overwhelmed right now.

We pray that our schools would be safe environments to learn and grow in. We pray that your nearness and peace would flood our schools this very day— in every classroom, school bus, dorm, drop-off line, parent group text, teacher planning period, and hallway conversation.

Strengthen those that know you as they show Jesus to the people around them in their schools and on their campuses. May they show and tell about the One who is kind and gracious and who loves every person made in his image with a fierce love we couldn’t even begin to imagine.

Father, move in our hearts and move in our schools. Be a hedge of protection around every school campus, and may your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.

It’s time for our 2nd Annual Turkey Drive! We have the opportunity to bless those in our community who experience food insecurity with a turkey for Thanksgiving. Whether you’ve earned enough points through the grocery story or you simply wish to purchase a turkey outright, you can bring frozen turkeys to the church on Sundays through 11/22!
