Another Real Mom conference favorite! Deanna Slamans, Leadership Speaker is a conference speaker, author, and educator with more than 25 years of ministry experience. Her memoir, Faith’s Pursuit: Understanding God’s Faithfulness in Suffering, shares her journey of growing up with mentally ill parents and later attending the Milton Hershey School, a residential program for at-risk youth. In 2015, her full testimony aired nationwide on the Harvest Television Show, where her transparency, biblical insight, and practical encouragement continue to inspire audiences. Deanna has recorded DVD Bible studies. She speaks at corporate conferences for The Hershey Company and Milton Hershey School, and was a featured speaker at The Becoming Conference for Women in 2022 and 2023 . A Real Mom favorite...Carolyn Ruch is an author, speaker, and steward of the Rise and Shine Movement: Equipping Adults to Protect Children from Childhood Sexual Abuse. Her published works include two children’s books and numerous inspirational stories and devotionals for moms, plus a soon to be released memoir, The Velveteen Mother. However, her role as mother to seven (three biological, one adopted, and three foster) is where she learned more about herself than she ever wanted to know and more about God’s love than she could ever imagine. Mamma guilt and shame, as moms, we wrestle with both. No matter how many children we have, no matter what age we are, they are our irritating, constant companions. One offers us freedom. The other holds us captive. Together, we will explore how we can welcome the guilt, which can lead us to joy in our parenting and strengthen our relationships with our children, and how we can expose the shame, which seeks to steal our joy in parenting and harm our relationships with our kids. Because what if the parenting journey is as much about what God wants to do within us as well as what he wants to do through us?

I recently attended The Real Mom Conference and wish I knew just how empowering and uplifting it was going to be so I could have invited all of the moms I know! It was an encouraging day filled with welcoming smiles, many laughs, worship time, real mom stories that were relatable no matter what season you are in, and inspiration to continue in the pursuit of biblical motherhood. It was a place where anything could be asked or shared without judgment and advice was given to strengthen your walk with God.

Let me catch you up...
I was off social media for most of this month and so much has happened that I want to share with you.
As I sat in a meeting Monday night with a church that is going to partner with us for The Real Mom conference in the Souderton Area, Sept. 26, I was amazed at the goodness of God. I looked at my ministry partner, Verna Bowman and said, "can you believe this is happening?"
If you told me 2 1/2 years ago in the height of my battle this is where I would be and how God's hand has moved on my ministry, I would not have believe it. Or would I? Yes, it might look a little different, but still wonderful! God is good!
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

1. A good report from my doctors at UVA. My Cushing Syndrome is stable and in remission. YAY!

2. We are offering a moms Bible study at Jaquelyn's on Main starting March 11. 9:30 am. (Check our events FB page)
