Wesley Church- People Blessing People

Wesley Church- People Blessing People We are people growing, connecting, serving - "people blessing people." Covenant Prayer
O Lord, I am no longer my own, but yours. Let me be full, let me be empty.

Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed by you or laid aside for you,
exalted for you or brought low for you. Let me have all things, let me have nothing. I freely and heartily yield all things
to your pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
You are mine, and I am yours. So be it.

And the covenant which I have made on
earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen. Adapted from Wesley Covenant Service.

🌈 Yesterday, members of Wesley Church of Bethlehem were honored to participate in Lehigh Valley Pride, celebrating the beautiful diversity of our community and sharing Christ's message of love with all.

At Wesley, we believe that everyone is a beloved child of God. We welcome, accept, and love all people, just as they are. As a United Methodist Church, we open our doors, our hearts, and our minds to everyone who seeks to know Christ and experience God's grace.

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our neighbors, build relationships, and remind the world that God's love is for everyone.

No matter who you are, where you've been, or where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.

❤️ Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors. ❤️

On this day we remember and give thanks for the birth of John Wesley—pastor, reformer, and founder of the Methodist movement—whose life bore witness to a gospel too wide to be contained by walls.
Wesley was once criticized for what some called his “vile” practice of preaching outside the church—on hillsides, in fields, and among miners and laborers. Yet what others saw as improper, God used as a powerful reclaiming of the gospel’s reach. Wesley seemed to understand, perhaps more than his critics, that Christ had not come for the respectable alone, but for all people everywhere.
His ministry echoed the truth found in Galatians 3:28:
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Where society—and sometimes even the church—drew lines, Wesley stepped across them. Where doors were closed, he took the message into the open air. Where people were overlooked, he saw beloved children of God. His field preaching was not merely innovation; it was incarnation—meeting people where they were, just as Christ had done.
On Wesley’s birthday, we are reminded that the gospel is not confined to sanctuaries, traditions, or expectations. It is a living word that breaks boundaries, challenges comfort, and gathers the unlikely into grace.
May we have the same courage:
to go where we are not expected,
to speak where voices have been silenced,
and to believe, with unwavering faith, that all are one in Christ Jesus.
Happy birthday, John Wesley—your “vile” preaching helped reveal a beautiful truth: God’s grace cannot be contained.

This week, Pastor Candy shared her final “Brown Bag” sermon, and it was one we won’t soon forget. Using a simple tea strainer, she brought new life to Revelation 3:15, reminding us of John’s words about being neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm.
A tea strainer separates what steeps and strengthens from what doesn’t belong. In the same way, we’re called to examine our faith—are we fully engaged, growing, and on fire…or just going through the motions?
God doesn’t call us to a lukewarm life. He invites us into a faith that is alive, active, and deeply rooted.
Thank you, Pastor Candy, for always helping us see God’s truth in the everyday, and for leaving us with a message that challenges and inspires us to live with intention. 💛
