Kol Hakovod to our congregant Galia Messika Greenberg on being named the incoming President of the JCRC Board of Directors. Beginning July 1, Galia will make history as the first Israeli to lead the organization.
The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington serves as the central community relations agency of the organized Jewish community in our nation’s capital, working to foster a society rooted in freedom, justice, and democratic pluralism. Through its four pillars of government relations, Israel advocacy, inter-group relations, and social justice, JCRC represents the voices of over 100 constituent agencies, organizations, and synagogues across the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland.
Founded in 1938, JCRC continues to serve as a unifying voice for Jewish organizations and institutions in Greater Washington, promoting social justice, combating antisemitism and hatred, strengthening interfaith relationships, and advocating for the Jewish community and the State of Israel.
We are proud to celebrate Galia’s leadership and commitment to this vital work. Mazal tov on this well-deserved honor.
