We are so blessed that we get the privilege to read God's word for ourselves and together.

Let us remember to do this regularly so that we may grow closer together and to the amazing Saviour that saved us from our sins.

Join us on Sundays and Wednesday nights for a time of learning and fellowship.

God is the way, the truth, and the life.

Kids Sunday School classes are provided at 9:30, while the adults meet separately.

There is nothing like starting the week learning about out blessed Saviour.

Luke 11:9-13

Prayer

We need to pray with a full heart of compassion. We need to remember that God knows our hearts. He knows why we are praying.

Seek:

When we pray with the right heart and mind to God - we can come boldly to Him.

It is easy to pray for things we want. But when we pray for spiritual things, we tend to delay. We need to have faith that God can answer our prayers.

When we depend upon ourselves to get through, saying "I'll talk to God later." That is when our Christian lives get very hard.

Knock:

We need to come to him and knock. Knock until the door is opened, to the point of annoyance. God desires for us to "annoy" him with our persistent prayers.

He will open the door when we truly seek him.

Jesus is the Light that reveals the sins and incompleteness of the world.

When we walk in His Light as born again believers, He provides protection, comfort, and direction.

He also illuminates any darkness, dangers or sin in and around us. It is us that has to choose to do something about them.

John 3:19 - And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

John 1:1, 4-5, 9-11
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [9] That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. [11] He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Man desires that the Light of Jesus be put out!

Why? - Because they enjoy living in darkness (sin).

Light doesn't have to be proven. It is there. You can see it. The only people that can't see the light are those that are blind or those who have chosen to close their eyes.

Christian, what are you doing with the light God shines in your life? Are you letting it lead you and show you what you should do or change to become more like Christ? Or are you closing your eyes?

Either way others will see - whether you have His Light shining bright through you or not.

Having services in the park during the summer is one of the great highlights that Northwoods Baptist Church gets to experience. This last Sunday evening we had a wonderful time of hamburgers and sides followed by a simple message that we could apply to our everyday lives. Coming together as a church family is something that we should all appreciate and cherish.

I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the summer.
