God of power and mercy, you destroy war and put down earthly pride.
Banish violence from our midst and wipe away our tears, that we may all deserve to be called your sons and daughters.
Keep in your mercy those men and women who have died in the cause of freedom and bring them safely into your kingdom of justice and peace.

Since Pentecost is the birth-day of our Church, and tongues of fire appeared over the heads of the disciples, my children always thought this picture looked like a birthday cake and where humans got the idea of candles on a cake. 😁I doubt it, but it's a cute thought. Back in March, St. Philip's Faith Formation spent an evening serving others by packing meals for Kids Fighting Hunger 🍚💙

The goal for the night was to pack 21,000 meals — but with many helping hands and joyful hearts, over 23,760 meals were packed! 👏🎉

Some of these meals will stay local, while others will be sent to families in Haiti and Honduras. 🌎❤️ It was an evening filled with faith, fun, and giving back to those in need.
