You will always have a gap in this life. But Jesus saves and sanctifies. This means you strive to bridge the gap by genuinely living for Him. You seek the character, consistency, and counsel which will enable you to bridge the gap. You seek the grace of the Holy Spirit to empower you to bridge the gap. You do this in times of sunshine and storms, and you do this in anticipation of the day when Jesus will reveal everything. The road may be bumpy, but through your saving and sanctifying Savior, you live genuinely for Him, and you will make it safely home.

In our own ways, we are all stubborn. In wisdom, you may stubbornly hold on to your convictions and commitments. Yet in foolishness, you may stubbornly hold on to your pride, reputation, accomplishments, comfort, possessions…and sin. Foolish stubbornness angers Jesus. Instead, He delights in the one who sees God’s glory and seeks God’s grace. He delights when we guard their hearts and shine our light in all the words we say, in all the places we go, and in all the deeds we do.
