Good Morning Church Family,

One of the most frequently used words in the New Testament is the word call. It is used 150 times in the New Testament. In a majority of those times, Jesus is doing the calling. The verb called is a very intense term that means, “to call in a loud voice, invite, call to bring someone close.”

In his book “My Utmost For His Highest” Oswald Chambers said, “The call of God is not for the special few, it is for everyone. Whether or not I hear God’s call depends upon the state of my ears; and what I hear depends upon my disposition…Remove the thought from your mind of expecting God to come to force you or plead with you.”

When Jesus called Simon and Andrew, He said, “Come, follow me….[18] At once they left their nets and followed Him” (Mark 1:17). A few verses later He called James and John, "Without delay He called them, & they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him” Mark 1:20). Notice that they didn’t say something like, “I’ll come later when things aren’t so busy.” They followed Jesus immediately.

When Jesus invites us to follow Him, He challenges people to change the direction of their lives. Following Jesus is continuous, habitual, and moment by moment. Two thousand years ago, Jesus came to call people to Him and He is still calling people and telling them to follow Him. A follower is God’s man, doing God’s work, in God’s way, for God’s glory.

The words to one of the great hymns is, “He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there none other has ever known.” I believe that God is speaking to us all the time. The issue is: are we listening to Him. Our true identity is wrapped up in who we are IN Christ. He’s always calling. The question is, are we listening?

We are coming to the close of the 2025-2026 Sunday School year. On Sunday, May 31 at 9:30 a.m., we will have the last Sunday School classes for all age groups (children, teens, and adults). Sunday School classes will resume in September. While the adults will have their Sunday School class in the Fellowship Hall as usual, our children and teens will participate in a "Store", where they may get prizes for their Bible work, memory verses, and attendance. Children and teens will meet in the downstairs classrooms at 9:30 A.M. We at Centerpoint are strong supporters of the value of methodical Biblical training in our Sunday School classes. We are so pleased by the many children, teens, and adults who were faithful learners. We look for every opportunity to live out Proverbs 22:6. Note: Children's Church and nursery and preschool care will continue throughout the summer during the Service.

Mark your calendar: After the Service on Sunday, June 7, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate 4 high school graduates: Lydia, Cody, Ava, and Riley. It is our church tradition to present a monogrammed Bible to each of the graduates and also have cake, coffee, and tea. A family in the church wishes to provide a luncheon for the graduates and our Church Family. Please join us for this time of celebration! We pray for God's blessing in these 4 graduates.

Happy Friday,

Let me ask you a question: Is God too busy to care about you? Sometimes people say that God is too busy to care about the little things in your life. Understand that everything is little compared to God. However, God’s love for you trumps everything else. He fed huge crowds when there was no food, showed love for children when others thought little of them, and showed concern for the birds of the air. Matthew 6:26“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” This verse tells us that you are much more precious to God than birds. On the night Jesus was arrested, He healed the ear of the high priest’s servant that one of His disciples had cut off (Luke 22:50-51). God is concerned about your pain and sadness and desires to strengthen us and uphold us. In Isaiah 41:10 God says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

God says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). If He didn’t love us, He wouldn’t care what happens to us—and He certainly wouldn’t care about the little details that often preoccupy us or cause us the greatest worry. God continually calls us to come to Him with our burdens and find rest for our souls. (Matthew 11:28-29). He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3). He offers strength when we are weak. (Philippians 4:13). He invites us to cast our worries on Him because He cares. (1 Peter 5:7).

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

Someone said: “When I say I am a Christian, I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need God’s strength to carry on.

*When I say I am a Christian I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean up my mess.

*When I say I am a Christian I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are far too visible but God believes I am worth it.

*When I say I am a Christian I still feel the sting of pain, hurts, my share of heartaches, but I also have God to call upon.

*When I say I am a Christian I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace and I need Him desperately every minute of every day.

The lesson in Children's Church today was "Solomon, the wise AND foolish king." The children had a great time with the Treasure/Scavenger Hunt based on God giving Solomon wisdom. Thank you, Ella Vesolich, for creating the plans and code for the hunt. Thank you, to my assistant Addison Woelfel. I loved the teamwork that the children displayed. ( And Deli came in at the end to check it out!)
