Many blessings to you on this beautiful Labor Day weekend. However you may be spending the day--worship, baseball, tubing, state fair, cookout, reading, gardening, hiking, or more--may this day be marked by peace and joy for you and those you love. And may this be a time of reflection on the paid and unpaid labor, of ourselves and our neighbors, the ways in which we contribute to the wellbeing of each other and the care of our communities.

Know that you are welcome to gather with neighbors this morning to ground your day in community, in worship and prayer, in food and music, in scripture and in God's grace. In the park, online, or at the corner of Pratt and Clinton--there is space and time for you.

This fifth Sunday in August feels a bit like "bonus summer"? That is, the kids are already back in school, but summer sunshine and summer warmth and summer baseball all continue--and we aren't to Labor Day yet. May this "bonus" time be a blessing to you and yours, and may this day be filled with rest, renewal, adventures, and anything else you need today.

Please know that you are very welcome to gather for worship and study and a meal today as a community, alongside neighbors with Breath Of God Lutheran Church (Pratt & Clinton Streets). Every day is a good day to be fed at God's table, nurtured by God's Word, and strengthened by God's love for us in Jesus Christ. Hoping to see you soon!

How did that happen?!? School starts tomorrow? Where did the summer disappear to all of a sudden! Whew... ready or not, here we come.

Meanwhile, this morning is a beautiful one, and a great one to spend together in community. Whether you are headed to the farmers' market downtown, or Lively Worship in the park at 9am at Pratt & Ellwood, or community worship at 10:30am (where the Rev. Seminarian Gwen Van Velsor will be our preacher!) Whether you and yours are tied into the school year schedule or not, we'll gather to be renewed in community with each other, to be challenged and comforted by God's Word, to share good food, and to be shaped by God's Spirit. We will see you soon!
