Sunday's Sermon Notes
From ~ Sister Tarsha Shenell
“Stop using me” -A rejected hurt father and an overlooked daughter
Jephthah made a vow to God before going into battle. After God gave him victory, the first person to come out of his house was his only child, his daughter. Jephthah placed the burden of his vow on his daughter. She responded by asking only for two months to mourn that she would never marry or have children before returning to her father. Sometimes we use the people closest to us to protect our reputation, or keep promises we should never have made. Jephthah’s daughter paid the price for a vow she didn’t make.
💫You are valuable because God created you, called you, and has a purpose for your life. This week, stop seeking validation from people who only call when they need you. Instead, seek God’s voice, establish healthy boundaries, and remember that your worth comes from Christ, not from being useful to others. Also, take responsibility for your own vows. God desires faithful hearts more than sacrifices.
