A Prayer for the Intercession of St. Jude

O Holy, St. Jude, Apostles and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depths of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance. Help me in my present and urgent petition.

A Prayer to St. Jude

O glorious Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, true relative of Jesus and Mary, I salute you though the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through this heart I praise and thank God for all the graces he has bestowed upon you. Humbly prostrate before you, I implore you through this heart to look down on me with compassion. O, despise not my poor prayer, let not my trust be confounded. To you God has granted the privilege of aiding humankind in the most desperate cases. Oh, come to my aid that I may praise the mercies of God. All my life I will be grateful to you and will be your faithful client until I can thank you in heaven.

Join us in commemorating the Solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord.

In the United States, the Ascension is often observed on Thursday or Sunday depending on your diocese.

They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)

Prayer in Time of Need

God of hope,
guide and strengthen me. Help me to know that your spirit is alive in me as I offer kindness, forgiveness, and tenderness to others. Grant me the inner calm that comes from trusting in you. Give me courage to be aware of your healing presence. May I trust that St. Jude walks with me in times of trouble and intercedes on my behalf. May you fill my heart with your hope.

As we share this blog post from the Catholic Apostolate Center, we’re reminded that turning to Our Blessed Mother isn’t just a tradition, it’s a path that leads us straight to her Son.

The Center, like the Pallottines of the Immaculate Conception Province who also serve here at St. Jude Shrine, continues to offer thoughtful reflections that help us live our faith more intentionally.

As May approaches, the month dedicated to honoring Mary, consider what it might look like to draw a little closer to her. Maybe it’s a daily Hail Mary, a decade of the Rosary, or simply asking for her intercession in the quiet moments of your day.

Let her lead you to Jesus.
