The Vocations Office hosted a reception for our new seminarians and their parents. We are blessed in the Archdiocese of Baltimore by the number of vocations. Let’s continue praying to God so that He, the Master of the harvest, sends more laborers into His harvest.

Discernment Day with the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia

The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia will host a discernment retreat day on Saturday, September 19th (10 am-5:00 pm) at Mount de Sales Academy in Baltimore, MD. Open to single Catholic women ages 16-30, the event includes Mass, prayer with the sisters, Adoration, spiritual talks, and lunch. For more information or to register, please email [email protected]. Last Tuesday, July 28th, ten of our seminarians were admitted to candidacy for Holy Orders. The Admission to Candidacy rite is celebrated when it has been established that the intention of those aspiring to Holy Orders is supported by the necessary qualifications and has achieved sufficient maturity. (Rites of Ordinations, Appendix II, No. 1)

May God who has begun the good work in you bring it to fulfillment.

Dear friends in Christ, join me in praying for these men about to be ordained. Pray that they will be preserved from all taint of evil and worldliness. Pray that they will be “ardent yet gentle heralds of the Gospel.” Pray that in celebrating the Sacraments and ministering with kindness, compassion, integrity, and generosity, they will lead many to Christ – our great high priest and the lover of our souls… he who lives and reigns with the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen!
