ICYMI: Bishop Gohl on his experience at "Preaching the Paradox" at Kindling Faith at United Lutheran Seminary:
I thank Pastor Sarah Garrett Krey (Gloria Dei!, Arnold) and Pastor Micah Krey (St. Martin’s, Annapolis) for their faithful tending of this event. Born out of conversations in the parsonage, they worked with the Kindling Faith staff to build the event, curate the preachers, solicit the workshop presenters, and organize the schedule. While they both were warmly and appropriately recognized by the participants and the seminary, I want to add my public thanks for their leadership and sacrifices to make the event possible. I was proud to see them share so much of themselves and their many gifts for the building up of the body of Christ among their colleagues.
And, I thank you for the breathing space to be away, engaged, and less-connected so that I could have that precious time of learning, rest, and renewal. You are a generous synod, and I deeply appreciate your support and encouragement.
Last week, I had the privilege of four days of Continuing Education at the United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg Campus. “Preaching the Paradox” was a festival of Lutheran preaching put on by the Kindling Faith Center for Lifelong Learning. From start to finish, the event was outstanding.
