GATHERING HYMN “Father Of Creation”
(vs, chorus, vs, chorus 2x)

Verse: We come into your presence to sing a song to You,
A song of praise and honor for all the things You’ve helped us through;
You gave a life worth living, a life in love with You.
And now I just love giving all my praises back to You.

Chorus: You’re the Father of creation, the risen Lamb of God,
You’re the One who walked away from the empty tomb that day;
And You set Your people free with love and liberty,
And I can walk with You, ev’ry night and ev’ry day.

Call to Worship “Healer of Our Every Ill” WOV #738

Invocation
We gather in the name that is above every name, trusting in God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Peace be to this gathering, and to all who seek healing and wholeness. Thanks be to God.

Ministry of the Word
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. (James 5:13-16)

Hear now the promise of the Lord:
“Your light breaks forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’” (Isaiah 58:8-9)

“For you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings.” (Malachi 4:2)

Gospel Acclamation “O Lord, Hear My Prayer vs 2”

The Lord is my song, the Lord is my praise: all my hope comes from God
The Lord is my song, the Lord is my praise: God, the wellspring of life.

The Holy Gospel according to the 5th Chapter of Matthew. Glory to you, O Lord.

Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12

The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ.

Message Pastor Gary Scharrig

Song of Faith Praise The One Who Breaks The Darkness

Praise the One who breaks the darkness with a liberating light;
Praise the One who frees the pris’ners, turning blindness into sight.
Praise the One who preached the gospel, healing ev’ry dread disease,
Calming storms and feeding thousands with the very bread of peace.

Praise the One who blessed the children with a strong yet gentle word;
Praise the One who drove out demons with a piercing two-edged sword.
Praise the One who brings cool water to the desert’s burning sand;
From this well comes living water quenching thirst in ev’ry land.

Praise the one true love incarnate: Christ, who suffered in our place;
Jesus died and rose for many that we may know God by grace.
Let us sing for joy and gladness, seeing what our God has done.
Praise the one redeeming glory; praise the One who makes us one.

Confession and Forgiveness

The Lord said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

So now let us humble ourselves before our Lord, according to his promise, making our sincere confession of sin and weakness, and asking for his forgiveness, healing, and strength.

(Silence is kept for meditation and reflection.)

Most merciful God,

We confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry for our failings and we humbly repent, asking you to forgive us, even though we do not deserve it. Lord we believe; help our unbelief. (Mark 9:24)

In the mercy of Almighty God, your sins are forgiven in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who promises to hear our deepest felt needs has taken your sin upon himself so that you might be truly free. By the power of his love may you be strengthened in all goodness and kept in faith to eternal life. Amen.

Laying on of Hands

Savior of the world, By your cross and precious blood you have redeemed us; Save us and help us, we humbly beseech you, O Lord.

(Those present may come forward for laying on of hands or let the usher know you would like the Pastor to come to you.)

Blessing For Healing Song “Lay Your Hands”

Refrain: Lay Your hands gently upon us. Let their touch render Your peace.
Let them bring Your forgiveness and healing. Lay Your hands gently, lay Your hands.

You were sent to free the broken hearted. You were sent to give sight to the blind. You desire to heal all our illnesses. Lay Your hands gently, lay your hands. (Refrain)

Lord, we come to You through one another. Lord we come to You in our need. Lord, we come to You seeking wholeness. Lay Your hands gently, lay Your hands. (Refrain)

P: Child of God, with the laying on of hands, receive the blessing of God. We ask our Lord Jesus Christ to sustain you with his presence, to cast out all sickness of body, mind, and spirit, and to give you new life and peace which will enable you to serve him both now and forever. Amen.

P: Children of God, around the world, receive the blessing of God. We ask our Lord Jesus Christ to sustain you with his presence, to cast out all sickness of body, mind, and spirit, and to give you new life and peace which will enable you to serve him both now and forever. Amen.

Offering “Heal Our Land”

Forgive, oh Lord, and heal our land,
And give us eyes to seek Your face, and hearts to understand;
That You alone make all things new,
And the blessings of the land we love are really gifts from You.

Chorus: If my people will humbly pray, and seek My face,
And turn away from all their wicked ways:
Then I will hear them and move My hand; And freely then will I forgive,
And I will heal their land.

Unite our hearts in one accord, and make us hungry for Your peace,
And burdened for the poor; And grant us hope that we might see,
The future for the land we love, our life our liberty. (chorus + ending)

Ending: And I will heal their land, heal their land.

Great Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. In the beginning, when darkness covered the face of the earth and nothing existed but chaos, your Spirit swept across the waters. You spoke but a word, and light was separated from darkness. And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

“Holy, Holy, Holy Lord” WOV

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest, hosanna in the highest.

Words of Institution

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Communion “Be Still”

Be still for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.
Come bow before Him now, with reverence and fear.
In Him no sin is found, we stand on holy ground.
Be still for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.

Be still, for the glory of the Lord, is shining all around.
He burns with a holy fire, with splendor He is crowned.
How awesome is the sight, our radiant King of Light!
Be still, for the glory of the Lord, is shining all around.

Be still, for the power of the Lord, is moving in this place.
He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister His grace.
No work too hard for Him, in faith receive from Him.
Be still for the power of the Lord, is moving in this place.
