MISTAKENLY TAKEN: Last week we posted a photo of these Sunday School chairs and song books from years gone by--60 and 70+ years old! In the photo they appear in the Narthex of the church where we put them for people to view and maybe reminisce about their Sunday School years. We intended them for viewing, not for people to take. Two chairs and song books were removed on Sunday, we think by someone who probably thought because their names were on the songbooks corresponding with the chairs, that they were meant for the individuals. We do want to keep these as part of our church heritage and history, so if you did remove the chairs and song books we will greatly appreciate you returning them to church or the Parish Hall as soon as possible. Thank you.

It's been a while since we posted, so what better way to begin than a throwback. We found four of these little chairs stored away, and after a coat of finish by one of the Catechism boys they look pretty good. We even found old Sunday School songbooks. The chairs, based on people who remember sitting on them in Sunday School, are at least 65 years old, and the songbooks pretty close behind. Do you remember them? Can you identify the names on the songbook? Who was your Sunday School teacher?

A few weeks ago the Word on Wednesday children sang Glory Be To Jesus in the Sunday worship service. Tomorrow they will sing I Am Jesus Little Lamb. We hope to see you then.

This crew of members from our church spent some hot Saturdays this past summer getting the parsonage ready for remodel. There was the original lathe & plaster and blown-in insulation to remove upstairs, taking the upstairs down to the outside walls. Throughout the rest of the home there were doors and millwork to be replaced, cabinetry to be painted, old flooring to remove, and even the stairs to the upper level to remove and reconfigure. Check out the old wallpaper!

The project is moving along nicely, with completion anticipated in about two months. Stop in after church this Saturday night or Sunday morning and tour the home.

Hosanna, loud hosanna
the little children sang;
through pillared court and temple
the lovely anthem rang.
To Jesus, who had blessed them,

the children sang their praises,
the simplest and the best.

Easter for Kids last Saturday was a hit. The Easter story with Miss Sandy, Pastor talking with the children about Jesus' death and what he's done for us and singing a very happy song, fun crafts with Judy, Becky, Cherie and Arlene, and teen helpers Landen and Blake, and a yummy lunch with Sadie, Kelly and Sarah. Thank you volunteers. Enjoy the photos!

Easter for Kids is underway, today Saturday 4/5. The morning began with Pastor and the kids discussing, "But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep". Miss Sandy read the Easter story, Becky, Judy, Arlene and Cherie will lead a fun craft room, and lunch is served by Kelly, Sadie and Sarah, teen helpers Landon and Blake are there to do whatever is needed. Thank you to all the volunteers!! More pictures to follow tomorrow.

Has the weather kept you home, unable to get to church? The last few Wednesdays have provided conditions that were not ideal, and Sunday's ice in certain areas provided a challenge too.

Our sister congregation, Christ Lutheran Church, records the sermons and offers them for listening anytime at their website.
