We have started a new Bible study entitled "Bible Symbols."

Symbols used throughout the Bible have the potential to be misunderstood and misinterpreted. This Bible study will guide participants through a broad range of the symbols used in the Bible and establish good principles for interpreting those symbols.

Classes take place every Wednesday at Christ at 1 p.m., and at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church West Jacksonport at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. All are welcome. Please join us!

We have started our study of the Book of Jonah. This four-chapter prophetic narrative offers a profound exploration of divine mercy, human reluctance, and God’s unwavering compassion. We will examine Jonah’s calling, his resistance, and the far-reaching grace extended even to those thought beyond redemption. All are invited to join this thoughtful and enriching study as we reflect on God’s grace and the believer’s response to His leading.

As a reminder, classes take place weekly on Wednesdays - 10 am and 7 pm at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church West Jacksonport and 1 pm at Christ.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a change to the Bible study schedule this week due to the pastor's conference on Wednesday, April 22. Class will still take place at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church West Jacksonport on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The 10 a.m. class at Zion and the 1 p.m. class at Christ will be held on Thursday, April 23. We will return to the regular schedule next week.

Bible Study has resumed weekly on Wednesdays. The topic is "Idols We Never Knew We Had." A wood-carved animal figurine. A chiseled stone statue. A golden goddess. Do you have an idol-worship area set up in your home? We would say “Definitely not! I don’t bow down to idols!”

But sometimes we do worship idols and make them our gods, not even realizing they are there. Our upcoming study will bring to light these idols that hide themselves so easily in our homes and hearts, and through God’s guidance and power we’ll get help to avoid worshiping these false gods.

This class is offered at 10am and 7pm in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church West Jacksonport Parish Hall and at 1pm in the Christ Parish Hall. Please join us to learn what God's Word has to say.

UPDATE: The Lenten supper for tonight at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church West Jacksonport has been cancelled. The hill to the parish hall is very slippery.

Dear Members & Friends of Zion & Christ,

There will be no midweek (3:30pm) service at Christ today because the plow company is unable to plow the parking lot by this afternoon due to the recent blizzard.

Zion's parking lot is able to be plowed, so Zion will still have their service at 6:30pm with a meal in the Zion parish hall prior to the service from 5:15-6:15pm. All are welcome.

Due to the second, larger snowstorm anticipated to arrive early Sunday morning, weekend worship will be offered on SATURDAY, March 14 at the following times:

Zion Lutheran: 9:45am on Saturday

Christ Lutheran: 3:30pm on Saturday

*The Lord's Supper will be offered during both services.
