“DON’T LOSE YOUR IDENTITY IN THE SHIFT”
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:
“Mephibosheth bowed to David and said, ‘What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?’”
(2 Samuel 9:8, NCV)
TODAY’S WORD:
Family, now we’re here…
Monday, we established:
the blessing is
on your life.
Tuesday, we understood:
God will move
you to expand it.
Now today…
we deal with something deeper:
Identity.
Because when life starts shifting…
if you don’t know who you are,
you’ll start believing what you’ve been through.
Mephibosheth was born into royalty.
He had a seat at the table.
He had a legacy.
He had a name.
But life happened.
He was dropped.
He was injured.
He ended up in
a place called
Lo-Debar,
which means a place of lack, no pasture, no growth.
And after living there long enough…
He forgot who
he was.
So when the king called him back to the palace…
he didn’t see royalty.
He saw damage.
He called himself
a dead dog.
Let’s bring that home:
Some of you have been through things
that tried to redefine you.
Mistakes.
Rejection.
Loss.
Setbacks.
And if you’re not careful…
You’ll start seeing yourself
through what happened to you
instead of who God created you to be.
But hear this clearly:
Where you’ve been is not who you are.
What didn’t work is not your identity.
What they said about you is not your identity.
What you went through is not your identity.
You are still chosen.
You are still called.
You are still marked by God.
And just like Mephibosheth…
God is still calling you back to the table.
But you can’t walk in royalty
with a broken mindset.
You can’t step into purpose
thinking you’re unworthy.
So today is about this shift:
Stop identifying with Lo-Debar.
Start identifying with the King.
And here’s how
it ties together:
You’re blessed (Monday).
God is moving you (Tuesday).
Now you must see yourself correctly (Wednesday).
Because tomorrow…
we’re going to deal with how
you treat others
when you understand who you are.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father, thank You that my past does not define me. Thank You that
I am chosen, called, and loved by You. Help me to see myself the way You see me and to release every lie that tries to tell me
I am less than what You created me to be. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”🙏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾”.
FAITH DECLARATION:
I declare that my past does not define me.
I declare that I am chosen, called, and worthy.
I declare that I will walk in the identity God has given me.
