This Bible Study was presented on Sunday January 21, 2024. 1 Samuel 17 we find the story of David and Goliath. A very familiar story of a young shepherd boy facing a giant - champion -warrior.
From this story of David and Goliath, we can learn how we can possess Victory in Change!
I think we would all agree that we face some type of conflict, and adversity every day, and making decisions with these conflicts leads to change! Some of these conflicts become giants in our lives. These giants create stress, anxieties, and sometimes fear, all because we don’t know what decision to make and we become frozen in fear. Why? All because I am fearful to make a bad decision.
I believe the process for victory in our lives can only truly come when our lives are God Driven, God Directed, God Developed and God Dedicated.
It is important we understand that this process will not eliminate the conflicts that become giants in our lives, but will allow us to possess peace, and confidence in God. During our conflicts, trials and temptations.
I would like to personally invite you to West Hall Baptist Church located at 5314 McEver Rd. Oakwood, GA 30566. We have Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday and Worship at 11:00 a.m. We also have Prayer-time and Bible Study on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m. Hope I can meet you at West Hall Baptist Church as our guest next Sunday!

This Bible Study on 1 Corinthians 1.18 was conducted on Sunday, January 14, 2024 and was entitled: Foolishness of the Cross!
Have you ever been distracted?
You sit down to eat dinner and your phone starts to beep, ding, or shake? Everyone becomes distracted at that time!
Paul begins his letter to the church in Corinth focusing the people’s attention on the main thing. He doesn’t beat around the bush or bury the lead story in later chapters. He tells us in the first chapter that men and men’s wisdom is distracting you from the main thing: Jesus!
The first phrase in this verse, “word of the cross” can be translated 3 ways:
1. Word of the cross
2. Message of the cross
3. Telling or preaching of the cross
Listen to our bible study today, to learn that Jesus is the word, the message and what we should be telling others about the cross of Jesus!
There are 2 consequences in hearing the cross of Jesus: 1. either you are being saved by Jesus or 2. you are perishing because you believe the message of Jesus is foolishness. One message with 2 contrasting consequences.
I would like to invite you to visit West Hall Baptist Church. We are located at 5314 McEver Rd., Oakwood, Ga. 30566. Bible study begins Sunday at 9:45 a.m. with the Worship Service following at 11:00 a.m. On Wednesday evenings we have prayer meeting and Bible study beginning at 6:30 p.m. I would love to meet you when you visit West Hall. Hope to see you soon.

On December 17, 2023 the following message was presented at West Hall Baptist Church. During the Christmas season, Christians and Non-Christians alike, in over 160 countries, celebrate the birth of Jesus. Many times, we are so busy with the lights on the tree, and presents under the tree, that the stress of this season overwhelmingly detracts us from Jesus, and the question: Why was Jesus Born? I believe there are at least 3 reasons why Jesus was born. First, To Save Us. Secondly, To Show Us God’s Love. Thirdly, To Show Us God, and Finally, To Secure our Eternity. All of this began when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Listen to the message as we walk through Scripture to answer the question: Why was Jesus Born? I trust if you do not have a Church home that you would visit West Hall Baptist Church this Sunday at 1100 for our Christmas Eve Communion Service and then at 6:30 p.m. for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. I hope to meet you this Christmas Eve at West Hall.

The Promise of Jesus message was offered at West Hall Baptist Church on December 10, 2023. Have you ever had someone, anyone, promise you something, that excited you and you looked forward to that promise coming to pass? Think about how long it was that God had promised Israel, that the Messiah would come. Listen to this message and hear how God promised that someone would come in Genesis 3.15, and throughout Scripture, God has Promised, Jesus, The Messiah would come. As we look in Isaiah 9.6-7, we read that a child will be born, signifying the full-humanness of Jesus. Also, a Son will be given, signifying Jesus if fully-God! Finally, we see how Jesus was despised and rejected, after His long-awaited arrival. One lesson that we can learn from The Promise of Jesus is that we must possess Faith in God, Faith in God’s Word, and Faith in God’s Promises to live a life, worthy to be called a child of God. Walk through the Bible with me as we look at, The Promise of Jesus!

This sermon was preached on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Our text was Colossians 1.13-20. The title is: The Incomparable Jesus!
This passage I believe is one of the greatest passages in all of Scripture that teaches and describes who Jesus is, what God has done for us through Jesus, because of who Jesus is!
Jesus was the God-man. Jesus was fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins. Jesus was buried, and God raised him from the dead on the 3rd day. Yet, in our world today, many will say that Jesus is just one of many-ways in which we can enter heaven. I believe this passage, without a shadow of a doubt, provides the credentials for Jesus to prove He is the only way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh unto the father, except through Jesus!
The word incomparable, by definition, is something or someone that is so unique, so exceptional, so different from anyone or anything, that it is impossible to compare anything, with that object or to that person.

That is why today we will see in our study that we worship The Incomparable Jesus! Jesus is so unique, so exceptional, so good, that there is no one similar to Jesus. Jesus, cannot be compared to any other being. And that is why we can say: Jesus, is, The Incomparable Jesus!
I trust as we enter the Christmas season, if you do not have a place to worship The Incomparable Jesus, that you will visit West Hall Baptist Church at 5314 McEver Rd. Oakwood, GA 30566. Bible Study begins every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and Worship at 11:00 a.m. I look forward to meeting you when you visit West Hall Baptist Church as we study and worship The Incomparable Jesus!

This message was preached on November 26, 2023, and
Philippians 2.1-11 teaches us that we need to Be Like Jesus, in our actions and in our attitude! From Genesis through Revelation, the goal of God for each of our lives, for today, and for every day, is not prosperity, health, wealth, and it is not for us to have a better life than those who are not saved. God’s priority is first to save us from the penalty of sin through His grace and faith in his Son, Jesus Christ. Thereafter, after we are saved, God’s goal for our lives is for us to be transformed, and conformed to the image of his Son…Jesus Christ!
Our text today provides for us 3 examples or attitudes, of what it is like to follow Jesus, Be Like Jesus!
1. To be like Jesus, we should encourage others! V. 1-5.
2. To be like Jesus, empty ourselves! V. 6-8.
3. To be like Jesus, exalt God! V. 9-11.
I trust as we move closer to the when we celebrate our Savior’s birth, that you have a place to worship the new born King! If not, we would consider it an honor for you to worship with us on Sunday’s at 9:45 a.m. for Bible Study and at 11:00 a.m. for Worship. I hope to see you next Sunday at West Hall Baptist Church.
