The week of May 16-22, twelve students and two staff from AU partnered w/ Praying Pelican Missions to help with the Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in Lake Lure & Chimney Rock, North Carolina. Below are some photos from an amazing week of service and fellowship.

St. Paul wrote, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love” (Galatians 5:6). We pray our small acts of charity will bless the people we served. Their perseverance in the midst of great suffering certainly increased our faith!

Thank you to all who offered prayers and support for our mission. Please keep the people of Western Carolina in your prayers as they continue to rebuild their lives!

Before Easter, we wrapped up our 4 week series on Theology of the Body. Our third night of the talked about our destiny and the vocation of celibacy. Then we finished the series by talking about marriage and sexual union. Throughout the series, spoke to us our bodies and how they are meant to glorify God by answering the questions: What does it mean to be human? And How do I live a life in a way that will bring about true happiness?

Our Palm Sunday Mass started with the blessing of the palms on the Chapel Stairs followed by a procession around the chapel. It was a great reminder of Jesus’s procession into Jerusalem followed by His Passion, Death, and Resurrection that we examen throughout the rest of Holy Week. Have a blessed Holy Week and Easter Sunday with your family!
