Beginning THIS TUESDAY September 8th at 6pm, Vicar Derek and Pastor Stephanie from Peace Lutheran Church will be teaming up to offer “The Big Story: The Narrative of Christian Life.”

Every Christian has their own story, and our common life is built around the story we find in the Bible. By talking about how stories work, we can change our lives and learn so much about both ourselves and our God. The truth is, there is only ONE story, and we’re all a part of it!

Hello friends. I've been away for the past few days at a pastor's training event, so I haven't seen much of you this week. I'm looking forward to gathering with you on Sunday morning.

I wanted to jump on here and let you know about a wonderful man who passed away a few days ago. His name was Wendell Berry, and he was a poet, a farmer, an environmentalist, and a Christian.

I had the chance to meet him when I was a seminary student, and I have to admit that at the time I had no idea who the man was, but instantly, his energy--his way of walking through the world, had a dramatic effect on me.

Some friends of mine and I read through a few books of his poetry together, and marveled at the grace and subtlety of his words. He seemed to be a man who was well-acquainted with just how hard and frustrating the world could be, but nevertheless found God's grace within it.

If you're looking for a little inspiration today, maybe throw his name into your google-machine and check out the life of this extraordinary man.

May perpetual light shine upon him!

The Humane Society of Ashland County Ohio just rescued over 72 dogs and puppies! Their greatest needs are in this video and their Amazon wish list is in the comments of their post. Dog Walkers are in great need right now, so if that is something you are interested in doing this is a great time to get in touch with them!

We had a wonderful Faith Together Service at Peace Lutheran Church yesterday and a great turn out for the Faith in Action Ministry Fair afterwards! Thank you to all who were able to join us.

THIS SUNDAY, Aug. 23rd is the next Faith Together Service! We will be gathering at Peace Lutheran Church at 10am. Following the service stay for refreshments and the Faith in Action Ministry Fair! Several Ashland organizations will be there to share information with you about service opportunities, including those that have joined us for Bridge Builders Breakfasts in the past year.
