⏰ Brethren Academy registration closes October 1!

There’s still time to get your students registered for Brethren Academy 2026, happening November 12–15 at Ashland University!

Brethren Academy is designed to help students explore some of the big questions of faith and life—Who am I? What is God calling me to? And how do I live out my faith in the world around me?

If you have a student who would benefit from a weekend of meaningful conversations, great community, and space to listen for how God may be at work in their life, encourage them to join us!

📅 Registration deadline: October 1

Pastors and youth leaders, would you help us spread the word? Reach out to a student or family today who might need a personal invitation.

And as we get closer, we’d love for you to join us in praying for the students who will gather—that they would feel seen, encouraged, challenged, and open to what God has for them. ❤️

📣 Youth Leaders: Who is a student you should invite to Brethren Academy?

Brethren Academy is coming November 12–15 at Ashland University, and this year we’ll be exploring the theme of CALLING.

Brethren Academy is designed to give high school students space to go deeper—to explore who God has created them to be, how God might be calling them, and what faithful participation in God’s Kingdom can look like in everyday life.

But students often don’t recognize these opportunities on their own. Sometimes they need a trusted adult to say:

“I see something in you, and I think you should do this.”

So here’s your challenge: think of 1–2 students in your church who would benefit from Brethren Academy and personally invite them.

Who comes to mind?

One of the greatest privileges we have in ministry is walking alongside students through both the joys and challenges of life. More and more, our young people are carrying heavy burdens, and many of us have found ourselves wondering, How can I best help?

That's why I'm excited to invite you to a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training hosted by Brethren Student Ministries and Park Street Brethren Church.

📅 Saturday, September 12, 2026
🕗 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
📍 Park Street Brethren Church
Ashland, Ohio

This training is designed for any adult who regularly works with adolescents, including:
Youth pastors and youth leaders
Children's ministry leaders
Sunday School teachers
Pastors
Mentors
Teachers
Coaches
Camp leaders
Parents and other caring adults

Our instructor will be Christy Carmean, a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor (and daughter of many of you may know, Sherry Van Duyne!). Christy will equip us to better recognize when a young person may be struggling, respond with confidence and compassion, and connect them with the help they need.

During the training you'll learn to:
Recognize common signs and symptoms of youth mental health challenges.
Better understand trauma, substance use, self-harm, bullying, and the impact of social media.
Respond to a young person who may be experiencing a mental health crisis and connect them with appropriate support.

We'll also enjoy lunch and a great day of fellowship with youth leaders and ministry volunteers from across the Brethren Church.

If someone in your church or ministry would benefit from this training, please feel free to forward this invitation or invite them to join you. We'd love to equip as many caring adults as possible to better serve the students God has entrusted to us.

Hey friends!
We have another fun thing for you and your youth group to consider as we get closer to this year's Engage Conference. We had so much fun with our Goosechase Scavenger Hunt last year that we're running it back!
We're hosting a Goosechase Scavenger Hunt during the conference and we want you to have all the details now. Here are 3 ways to connect and sign up a team:
Scan the QR code
Use this link: https://join.goosechase.com/cba39092-a921-4f6a-9444...
Open the Goosechase app and enter the code: XJILUN
A few suggestions:
We recommend 1 team per youth group.
Invite people attending both the Engage Conference and the Adult Conference to join your team.
Check back each day — some missions are day- and time-sensitive.
The hunt opens on Monday and would be a great activity for your group between registration and your opening session!

Can't wait to see you all on Monday! - Sara

In a world that often feels like it is running on empty, the Gospel invites us into something different: Abundance.

The Apostle Paul’s prayer for the church in Philippi wasn’t just for survival or “good enough” faith. It was a prayer for expansion. He envisioned a life where love doesn’t just exist, but abounds—growing deeper, wiser, and more fruitful every day.

Join us for MORE & MORE, a four-night conference dedicated to the pursuit of the “abounding life” promised in Philippians 1:9–11. Over four transformative nights, we will move from the foundation of our faith to the fruit of our mission, asking God to enlarge our hearts and sharpen our vision for His glory.

This book was incredibly impactful and helped frame a discussion on discipling students living as technological natives. I can't say enough about it. For the next few days, this book is on sale for 99cents! Highly recommended.
