"The Cracked Pots group began in May of 2001. The church staff presented an idea to have small support groups and 6 groups were formed; we were to make sure ideas and comments were kept private among members of the session and to meet regularly at a set place and time, and to include about 12 people to keep the groups small. Twenty five years later, there are two groups that still meet and one is our Cracked Pots. Cracked Pots' members have been there to support each other, pray for others and put their skills to shine on presenting chapters from Christian-based books. It has been a meaningful 25-years and deep friendships have been formed. We have lost members along the way, those who moved and some passed away but we have been there for each other." (Margo Wyatt, founding member)

We are grateful to welcome the youth group from Central Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia, this week as they serve alongside our community in ongoing Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Their willingness to give their time, energy, and compassion to help those still recovering from the storm is a tremendous blessing. Through their service, they are making a meaningful difference in the lives of families and neighbors across our area. We are also thankful for the many volunteers who have helped coordinate their visit and provide meals and hospitality throughout the week.

“Oh Lord, how shining and festive is your gift to us, if we only look, and see.” - Mary Oliver

Walking silently through the damp Montreat forest on this misty morning was a gift. The voices of Hildegard of Bingen, Thomas Merton, and Mary Oliver awakened us to the beauty surrounding us, helping us look and listen more deeply. Presence became prayer. Shared reflections brought consolation and a deeper sense of gratitude and belonging. One hiker remarked, “Others have walked this way, their discoveries ignite assurances and possibilities for my spiritual life.” Stay tuned for the next contemplative hike this fall!
This word cloud below highlights the most common words that emerged from participant feedback.
