Join us this Sunday as Pastor Mack Dennis speaks on "Creative Sabotage". This week's art is called "Parting of the Red Sea", by Brian Whelan. Brian grew up in London, of Irish parents and now resides in Westport Road, Connecticut. His artistic journey began outside his studio door in the medieval churches of East Anglia. Vestiges of medieval art run through Brian's work depicting a sublime comedy of life’s glories and tragedies.

Thank you for helping keep our clothing and toiletry closets stocked! If you are interested in donating our top needs for Men are: boxers, pants (especially small sizes), shorts, T-shirts (not undershirts), shoes, caps, belts, and jackets. General top needs are deodorant, bar soap, and toothpaste (5 oz. or smaller). Donations can be placed in the bins under the Atrium Stairwell. Thank you for helping us care for our guests!

The inaugural Ellington 4-Mile Run & Walk on February 20th, 2027, is more than just a race. It's an invitation to engage with our city's history and innovation while fostering a vibrant, healthy community. Most important, it is an opportunity to help us kick off our Centennial celebration. This month church members and friends can register to participate at a discounted price of $30. On October 1st the registration fee will go to $35.

The Center for Faith and Life is looking forward to another experience of contemplation through creativity facilitated by liturgical artist and Founder of A Sanctified Art, Lisle Gwynn Garrity. Join us this evening, 9/9 at 6pm in the Chapel! This workshop entitled Creatio Divina invites participants to draw with oil pastels on a shared canvas in response to a scripture reading, ultimately creating a work of beauty together. The process is contemplative and peaceful, and meant for anyone who wants to create—no skills or experience necessary!

The FBC Adult Choir will resume weekly rehearsals on Wednesday, September 9th, at 7:00 pm in Crocker Auditorium. At this rehearsal, the choir will welcome new members, discuss plans for the fall, and get a head start on their music. Child care is available upon request.
