Interbeing means nothing exists apart from everything else. Non-duality means the line we draw between God and creation, self and other, sacred and secular, isn’t as solid as we’ve been taught.

Christianity has always known this. Paul: “in him we live and move and have our being.” Jesus, praying to be one with us the way he’s one with the Father.

We didn’t lose these jewels. We just stopped looking for them.

It’s almost time. 🎸 Friday, October 16 at 7pm, the House of Mercy Band takes the stage at The Mule for our annual Beatles Hymn Sing.

No preaching, it’s just a bunch of people singing Beatles songs together, loud, for the joy of it. We call it a “hymn sing” because we believe those songs are transcendent, and something happens when a room full of people sings them together. The world gets a little bit better for a night!

Free and open to everyone. Bring a friend, bring your voice.

Mary reached for Jesus at the resurrection. He told her to stop clinging — not to push her away, but so she’d finally see the divine love that had been in her all along.

A question from our church family after last week’s sermon led Pastor Chad to this: following Jesus, unlike clinging to him, isn’t about staying close to a person. It’s about becoming who he’s already made you.

Change of plans this Thursday: we’re trading the brewery for the ballpark.

House of Mercy is taking over a block of seats at the Asheville Tourists game against Greensboro. It’s Thirsty Thursday, we’ve already got 20 tickets in hand, and there is no easier way to make a new friend than sitting next to them for nine innings.

First come, first served — DM us or text Bobby before someone else claims your seat.

The serpent’s lie was never “eat the fruit” it was “you’re not like God.” But you are. Not because you earned it. Because you came from God.

There’s no becoming like God apart from God, only through God.
