The Church of Christ the King - Arvada, CO

The Church of Christ the King - Arvada, CO The Episcopal Church welcomes you! Welcome to the Church of Christ the King, an Episcopal parish in Arvada, Colorado. We hope that you will join us!

We are a growing and vibrant community seeking above all else to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. We take this desire seriously, meaning that our faith isn’t just something we dust off on Sundays. The Christian faith asks something of each of us—it needs to be a part of our daily lives—and we gather together to deepen that faith.

Greetings, beloved in Christ. I hope that you are well on this day.

It is June, and June is Pride Month. And not only am I celebrating Pride Month this year… This year, I am celebrating the 50th anniversary of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church's decision that our LGBTQIA siblings are entitled to a full and equal claim to the pastoral care, the love, and the support of this Episcopal Church. And while not every Episcopalian agreed with that decision, I believe it was the right decision.

I believe that our God has created us in all of our diversity, and that our God calls us to the fullness of our humanity. And it doesn't matter whether we are same-gender loving, and it doesn't matter whether we inhabit our gender the way the world would like us to. What matters is that we commit ourselves to seeking and serving Christ in all others, to loving our neighbor as ourselves, to striving for justice and peace among all people, and respecting the dignity of every human being. Those values are at the core of what it means to be an Episcopalian.

And I want to say to all of you, you are welcome in this church. In the Episcopal Church of Colorado, I, as Bishop, claim you as my siblings in Christ, as my fellow laborers in the vineyard for the Kingdom of God. And I want you to know above everything in this world, God made you, God loves you, and you are welcome in this Church. Blessings.

Greetings beloved in Christ, I hope that you are well on this day. Today, I want to invite you to save this date, July 17th, 2026. On July 17th, the Episcopal Church in Colorado is excited to welcome Kory Caudill and the Concert for the Human Family. You may recall that we hosted the Concert for the Human Family back in 2021, and you might also remember that it was COVID-tied, and so the concert was in a mostly empty church. It was livestreamed. But I'm excited to say that this year, Kory is returning with a Concert for the Human Family. He will be at Christ Church in Denver, and he will have with him Wordsmith, Imani-Grace (Cooper), and other musicians, special guests, to be part of this concert. The Concert for the Human Family was inspired by our own Prayer for the Human Family found in the Book of Common Prayer.

For those of you who might not remember, the prayer goes like this. "Oh God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus, your son. Look with compassion on the whole human family. Take away the arrogance and hatred that infect our hearts, break down the walls that separate us, unite us in bonds of love, and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth. That in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen." Concert for the Human Family encompasses a variety of genres of music, and it is a reminder to all of us that we are all God's children, we are all called to see each other's humanity. We are one human family. And Kory and his guests make that clear in the music that they offer.

It is music that is rooted in an understanding of a God who creates us and loves us, and calls us to live in the full humanity that Jesus demonstrated for us. And to see one another, not as objects, but as humans, as family. I, for one, am excited, I am grateful that Christ Church Denver will be hosting, and I am so hoping that you will join us. There will be more information on how you can get your tickets, but get them, and come, it will be an experience to remember. Blessings.

Greetings, beloved in Christ. I hope that you are well on this day. Today, I am excited to share with you that the Episcopal Church in Colorado is going to host a provincial youth event. In responding to our presiding bishop's call that in place of EYE, the Episcopal Youth Event, that provinces host their own youth event, our youth leaders have partnered with Province VI, our province, and Province VII to have a provincial youth event this summer, July 7th through the 10th at Denver University.

We are very excited about the prospect of bringing youth together from all over our province from lots of different dioceses to talk about themes of what it means to be a follower of Jesus in these times, how we model a loving Christ in our world in thought and in word and in deed. And in the spirit of EYE, there will be workshops and great music and fun had by all.

I am excited to be participating in this youth event and I hope that you will spread the word. If you want more information, you can find it on our website. I ask that you pray because our missioner for youth and young adults will be having a baby before then, but we are still excited for all the work that's going to take place that the youth are working on, the planning of this event with our leaders, and we are going to have a blast.

I invite you. All youth are welcome from 9th grade to 12th grade. Even if you graduate in May, you are still invited to take part, and I hope that you will share this news and that we will make this event a fantastic encounter of God's grace and the gospel. Blessings.
