First Lutheran Church - Albany, NY All people are invited, included, and celebrated here. We gather for worship Sundays at 10:45 am. Fellowship hour before worship at 10 am.

We are an ELCA congregation, please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM. We are a metropolitan parish committed to Christ-centered ministry in the city of Albany, New York. We rejoice in the manner in which God has graced us with unity in a glorious diversity. We welcome all to share in the life and ministry of First Lutheran regardless of age, race, socio-economic or marital status

, physical or mental capabilities, or sexual orientation. We are a “Reconciling in Christ” congregation and as such we are dedicated to being sanctuary (safe-haven) to all God’s people. We are also committed in the name of Jesus to work for justice and peace in our neighborhood, in our community, and throughout the world.

Sunday's reading from St. Paul's letter to the Romans contains Pr. Chilton's favorite verses in all of scripture (the citation is even etched into multiple travel mugs of his).

Romans 8:38-39:
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In the video, Michael Bridges introduces the song "Convinced" based on this text. Pr. Chilton played the album containing this song on repeat the year it came out.
