🚨 Community Update – Water Usage at the Masjid 🚨💧

Brothers and Sisters,

We received a notice from the City of Albany regarding very high water usage / possible leak at the Masjid (276 Central Ave).

After review, there is NO leak. The reality is:
👉 Our water usage is extremely high — at near industrial levels due to heavy usage and wastage during Wudu.

📉 What we should be using (Sunnah):
• Wudu: ~0.5–0.75 liters

📈 What we are actually using:
• Many times more — often 10x, 20x or higher

⚠️ This is not sustainable and goes against the spirit of conserving water in Islam.

🔧 Actions already taken:
• Water pressure reduced by 50%+
• Sensor-based faucet installed (trial basis) 🚿

🙏 We need your help:
• Turn off taps when not in use
• Do not let water run continuously
• Be conscious — every drop counts 💧

This is an Amanah on all of us. Let’s protect it together 🤲✨

JazakAllah Khair

🌙 Hadith & Ayah of the Day 🌙

Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.”
— Qur’an 26:80 📖

The Messenger of Allah PBUH 🌹 said:
“Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and free the captive.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari

The Messenger of Allah PBUH 🌹 also said:
“When a Muslim visits his sick brother, he is walking among the fruits of Paradise until he returns.”
— Sahih Muslim

The Messenger of Allah PBUH 🌹 said:
“Allah will say on the Day of Judgment: O son of Adam, I was sick and you did not visit Me… Did you not know that if you had visited him, you would have found Me with him?”
— Sahih Muslim

✨ A Powerful Reminder About Visiting the Sick

📌 Visiting the sick is a highly rewarded act in Islam
📌 It is something Allah Himself will remind us about

✨ What does this mean for us today?

➤ Check on those who are unwell
➤ Visit them if possible, even briefly
➤ If you cannot visit, call or message them

✨ Sometimes your presence brings more comfort than words

📌 The Prophet PBUH taught us:

➤ Bring ease, not burden
➤ Keep visits short and meaningful
➤ Make sincere dua for their recovery

➡️ Illness is not just hardship… it is also a means of purification

✨ When you visit the sick, you are honored with reward from Allah

🤲🏼 May Allah grant shifa to all those who are ill and make us among those who care for others. Ameen.

🌙 Hadith & Ayah of the Day 🌙

Allah says in the Qur’an:
“My mercy encompasses all things.”
— Qur’an 7:156 📖

The Messenger of Allah PBUH 🌹 said:
“Those who show mercy will be shown mercy by The Most Merciful.
Show mercy to those on the Earth, and The One above the heavens will show mercy to you.”
— Tirmidhi

✨ A Powerful Reminder About Mercy

📌 We all want Allah’s mercy

📌 But mercy is something we must give before we receive

✨ What is mercy?

➤ Being kind when you have the right to be harsh
➤ Being patient when others make mistakes
➤ Forgiving when you are wronged
➤ Helping when someone is in need

✨ In daily life:

➤ Be gentle with your family
➤ Be patient with people
➤ Forgive when you can
➤ Help those in need

✨ Mercy is not weakness — it is a sign of true strength

✨ If you want mercy from Allah… show mercy to others

🤲🏼 May Allah make us among those who show mercy and receive His mercy. Ameen.

🌙 Hadith & Ayah of the Day 🌙

Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”
— Qur’an 24:22 📖

The Messenger of Allah PBUH 🌹 said:
“Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives except that Allah increases him in honor…”
— Muslim

✨ A Simple Reminder About Forgiveness

📌 Do you want Allah to forgive you? Then forgive others

✨ What does this mean for us today?

➤ Forgiveness starts at home
➤ Forgive your family and close relatives first
➤ Then extend it to friends and others

✨ We are human — we will all make mistakes

📌 But:
➤ Be the one who forgives
➤ Do not hold onto grudges
➤ Choose mercy over anger

➡️ The one who forgives is the stronger one

✨ Forgiving others brings peace to your heart

🤲🏼 May Allah make us from those who forgive, overlook, and are forgiven. Ameen.

Masjid Update for Brothers

Alhamdulillah, we have installed new, quiet glass double doors right before the entrance of the Musallah. 🚪✨

This was done because many brothers — often unintentionally — were speaking loudly while entering the Masjid, talking on their phones 📱, chatting in the hallways, and socializing near the bathrooms. This caused disturbance for brothers who were praying, reading Qur’an, or making dhikr. 🕋📖

These new doors will help keep the Musallah quieter and preserve its sanctity, insha’Allah. 🤍

We kindly request all brothers:
• Please keep conversations outside the Musallah area. 🚪
• Keep voices as low as possible inside the Masjid. 🤫
• Remember that others may be praying or making dhikr. 🕌

The Prophet PBUH 🌹mentioned that one of the signs of the Last Day 🔥 is people raising their voices 🗣️ in the Masjid. This reminder is only to encourage us all to honor the House of Allah with silence, respect, and humility. 🤍

There are signs posted throughout the Masjid, but many times they are overlooked. We hope these doors will help make the Musallah a calmer and more peaceful place for worship. 🌙

Jazakum Allahu Khairan 🤲🏼
