Success [in the Christian life] is not hearing the world say “well done, thou mediocre Christian. It is hearing God say “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”

This study of Ecclesiastes has been such an encouraging and challenging study and tomorrow looks to be no exception. As always, we will be gathering together at 9:30 A.M. for a time of worship to our all-wise God. See you soon!

Ecclesiastes 8:16-17
When I gave my heart to know wisdom and to see the task which has been done on the earth (even though one should never sleep day or night),
and I saw every work of God, I concluded that man cannot discover the work which has been done under the sun. Even though man should seek laboriously, he will not discover; and though the wise man should say, “I know,” he cannot discover.

Another Sunday, another opportunity to come together to worship our God and build up one another in Christ. Pastor Chamber’s will help us examine Ecclesiastes 8:14-15 tomorrow at 9:30 A.M. Sunday school to follow starting at 11 A.M.

Ecclesiastes 8:14-15
There is futility which is done on the earth, that is, there are righteous men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked. On the other hand, there are evil men to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I say that this too is futility.
So I commended pleasure, for there is nothing good for a man under the sun except to eat and to drink and to be merry, and this will stand by him in his toils throughout the days of his life which God has given him under the sun.

Still in Ecclesiastes and still enjoying learning about what gives our lives real purpose (Hint hint: it’s our almighty God!). We are still chugging through Chapter 7 and will be studying verses 23-26 tomorrow starting at 9:30 A.M.!

Ecclesiastes 7:23-26
All this I have proved by wisdom. I said, “I will be wise”; but it was far from me. As for that which is far off and exceedingly deep, who can find it out? I applied my heart to know, to search and seek out wisdom and the reason of things, to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness. And I find more bitter than death, the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are fetters. He who pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be trapped by her.
