We continue with the NT books in the order in which they were written. THIS WEEK - 1 Thessalonians chapter 3.

From Corinth, Paul continues to encourage the fledgling church in Thessalonica. After only a short stay there, he thanks God for their steadfast faith. Reminding them to stay strong and to prepare for the troubles ahead which are inevitable.

Sounds like everyday life today. Trials and troubles WILL come. What then? Meeting in the company of other similarly minded individuals is a sure way of weathering the storms of life.

That's what Unchained Adel is all about! We don't give advice. But we live life together and provide a shelter to one another during the storm.

NEW LOCATION: Raccoon Valley Community House - 1016 Main St. WHEN: Thursday's 7-8:30pm - FREE Life Recovery bible too.✝️

We continue with the books of the NT in the order in which they were written. THIS WEEK; 1 Thessalonians - Chapter 2.

Many of Pauls letters to churches were for direction or correction. Not this one. He writes to commend and praise them for their steadfast faith. He reminds them to continue meeting together and lifting one another up. Especially in times of persecution and doubt.

Unchained and Life Recovery has the same message as Paul. Trials come and life will be hard. (John 16:33) But meeting with like minded individuals for the betterment of all is the key for moving forward in faith and recovery.

Unchained Adel meets on Thusday nights at 7pm. NEW LOCATION: Raccoon Valley Community House at 1016 Main St. in Adel. There's NO judgment in our 'jam'..everyone is welcomed!

Thursday, April 3rd@7pm - We continue our 1 step a week review of the 12 Life Recovery steps. This week; Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of the steps, we carry the message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs,. This weeks scripture; Matthew 4:23-25. Getting to this step in our Life Recovery program, we've preserved change and experienced real life transformation. Old behaviors replaced with new and the life lessons learned is truly "good news" (gospel) that we must share with others! Great God...Great Fellowship...Safe Place...Unchained Adel. Next week; back to step 1.

03/26/2025

Thursday, March 27th @ 7pm - We continue our 1 step a week review of the 12 Life Recovery steps. This week; Step 11 - Through prayer and meditation, we seek God's will for us and the power to carry it out. This weeks scripture; Hebrews 12:1-13. Having gained some discipline in our lives by this step, we direct our attention towards eternity and our fellow man. Maintaining a daily contact with God while being firmly planted in Life Recovery, we are best equipped for both. There will be seasons of struggle...that's Life. But having a "God consciousness" helps keeps us from resorting back into old behavior patterns. Great God...Great Fellowship...Safe Place...Unchained Adel.

03/20/2025

Thursday, March 20th@7pm - We continue our 1 step a week review of the 12 Life Recovery steps - This week; Step 10 - We continued with personal inventory, and when wrong, promptly admitted it - This weeks scripture; Hosea 14. It's in our nature to wrong others (Romans 7:18-20). When that happens (and it will) it's easy to slip back into old behavior patters. By doing a regular 'how am I doing' we can keep moving forward in our spiritual walk and recovery journey. Plus it allows us to repent and 'mend fence'. We can show you how we do it. Great God...Great Fellowship...Safe Place...Unchained Adel

03/04/2025

Thursday, March 6th@7pm - We continue our 1 step a week review of the 12 Life Recovery steps. This week; Step 8 - We listed all the people we have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all. This weeks scripture; Leviticus 16:18-22. There are at least 50 (some say over 200) sayings, idioms, or phrases we use in every day language that are rooted in the bible. Sayings such as, 'an eye for an eye', 'turn the other cheek', 'doubting Thomas', ot this week, 'scapegoat'. Sometimes our behaviors have caused us to be the family 'scapegoat' and caused is to be cast aside. A new life in recovery gives us a chance to rejoin the 'flock' as we 'become willing' to right our past wrongs done to others. Great God...Great Fellowship...Safe Place...Unchained Adel.

02/19/2025

Thursday, February 20th @ 7pm - We continue our 1 step a week review of the 12 Life Recovery steps. This week; Step 6 - We are entirely ready for God to remove our character defects. This weeks scripture; Philippians 3:7-14 - In step 4 we have identified our most glaring character flaws. In step 5 we have confessed them to God and discussed them with another. Now we cast them at the foot of the cross. Knowing that our old behavior no longer serves us well, and imperfectly move forward in our Life Recovery journey. Great God...Great Fellowship...Safe Place...Unchained Adel. ✝️
