Oakwood Community Church held its first public worship service this morning. We are praising God for this new life-giving church in EFCA Central. Pray with us for the gospel to be made known and the name of Jesus to be lifted high for many years through this new church family! 🙌🙏

God is at work in Storm Lake, IA, through the passion that Summit Church (EFCA) in Alta, IA, has for the gospel! Continue praying for Pastor Renato Jimenez as he leads this growing work of Almighty God! Renato is the EFCA Central Director of Hispanic Ministries.

SUMMIT ACQUIRES SL 1ST BAPTIST CHURCH..The Baptist Church, which closed at the end of last year because of low attendance and the loss of their pastor, was given to Summit church, said Renato Jimenez, 44, who serves as multicultural pastor. “They offered it to us. They are mission-minded and they want the mission to go on.”
Last Sunday, the Summit congregation voted in favor of the acquisition of the stately brick Baptist Church, built in 1923 at “church corners.”
Services in Spanish, Mabaan and Micronesian will be held at the new location, but the church will be renamed Iglesia Summit — Spanish for Summit Church. Assistants to Jimenez conduct the Mabaan and Micronesian worship...
