The face of war is never pretty. While we sit here feeling relatively safe, our military is in harms way and those in the war zone are suffering.

Here is a report from our missionary partner from Israel this morning. Their ministry center is 6 miles from the Lebanon border.

While there are mixed reports in the news that the war with Iran could be over within a matter of weeks, the reality on the ground continues to be very tense. Ballistic missiles from Iran are still targeting the Tel Aviv area, while at the same time Hezbollah in Lebanon continues launching drones and rockets toward the Galilee region.

During the last eleven days alone, the siren alarms have sounded more than 40,000 times across the country. So far, 18 people have been killed and 2,339 injured. For many families, daily life is repeatedly interrupted by the need to run to shelters.

At the same time, the cost of living has risen dramatically. Grocery prices have nearly doubled, and gasoline has climbed to about $9 per gallon. These pressures are making daily life increasingly difficult for many families, including those serving in ministry.

Let us pray earnestly for all involved.

Pastor Jeremey Scarberry's (from Ohio) devotion post today is a perfect addition to study from Sunday School yesterday where we discussed Christ as holy and our journey to become more and more holy and included discussion on the passage below. So decided to share: "Self-improvement must never be confused with the pursuit of holiness. Self-improvement will grow my love for self whereas holiness will grow my love for God and neighbor. Growth in self improvement must be seen and acknowledged by others or it feels empty and incomplete. Holiness on the other hand is fully satisfied by God knowing the progress that has been made, even if no one else acknowledges it."

From Darlene Line and Chosen People Ministries:

Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord, your continued prayers, and support. As March approaches, we know spring will soon be in the air! Here on the northeast coast, it has been a rather chilly winter, so I am looking forward to a spring thaw.

On March 3rd, our Jewish friends celebrated Purim (Hebrew meaning “lots”). On the evening of March 2, the megillah (scroll) of Esther is read in the observant Jewish communities. Purim is a redemptive story. It is an exuberant holiday that upholds and commemorates the survival of the Jewish people and their permanence throughout history, thus underscoring God’s promise and covenantal plan for the Jewish people.

As I have written prior, I believe many Jewish communities are more open to acknowledging a Christian friend. I believe in my heart of hearts that now is the time to stand up and speak up for our Jewish people and Israel. Many are walking in fear, being bullied, being attacked, hurt, and sometimes murdered in many countries and sadly here in the USA. This is unconscionable and cannot be tolerated. This is the time to both spiritually and physically reach out to Jewish communities, embrace them, hug them, and let them know we who follow the Lord stand in solidarity with the Jewish people and Israel.

Thank you and God bless you!

Blessings in Messiah,
