JESUS IS RISEN!! ALLELUIA!! 🌟🌼
Over this Octave of Easter, our schools have been joyfully celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus with Masses, art & craft, carnivals, egg hunts (including St Anthony’s Canossian Sec’s creative blending with International Friendship Day), and culminating in St Joseph’s Institution’s Easter Night on Easter Friday 🎊🥳

Thanks be to God for giving us a share in the new life of the Risen Lord! 🐣🙏

NO GREATER LOVE! ❤️
Since the start of Term 2, and esp during this Holy Week, our schools have been busy with reenactments of Jesus’ washing his apostles’ feet, Stations of the Cross, prayer services, Eucharistic adoration, and more washing of feet 🙏

We pray that everyone is having a blessed Paschal Triduum celebrating the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus and experiencing the deep love of God for each of us! ✝️

HALF PAST LENT! ✝️
Today is the midpoint between Ash Wed & Good Fri – a good time to pause and ask ourselves how our Lent has been so far 🤔

Our schools have been busy these past 3 weeks with Masses, penitential services, prayer sessions, retreats – including a special combined retreat for De La Salle School and St Anthony’s Primary School facilitated by students of Assumption English School and St Joseph’s Institution and led by BE.live Ministry! 🙏

May the Lord continue to pour out his blessings on us for the second half of Lent ✨ and grant our teachers and students a well-deserved break next week! 🌈

CELEBRATING ABUNDANCE! 🍊🍊
Our schools marked Total Defence Day last week 🇸🇬 and then celebrated the Chinese New Year (CNY) this morning with Masses, paraliturgies, lion dances and performances! 🥳 Wishing all who celebrate CNY/설날/Tết God’s abundant blessings for a year prosperous with our good works! 🎊

TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT?
Have you ever wondered why Chinese New Year (CNY) and Ash Wednesday often occur very close together, just like this year? 😅 Check out our explainer to learn why! ⬆️

In fact, not only are both events associated with the New Moon, both also celebrate the same thing: the arrival of Spring! 🌸 CNY is also known as the Spring Festival (春节), and our name for Lent comes from the Old English word for Spring, ‘lencten’, referring to the gradual lengthening of daylight hours in Spring ☀️

So while CNY and Ash Wed may seem diametrically opposed to each other, and while we may lament that the feasting and auspiciousness of CNY has to give way all too soon to the fasting and austerity of Lent 😰 the truth is that the two celebrations have more in common than we realize 🤝 Perhaps it’s time for us to use our creativity to work out how the two celebrations can complement or even enhance one another! 🎊 Have a blessed CNY/설날/Tết AND a blessed Lent! 😇

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🥳✨
It was a day of new beginnings today as the new school year began – for our Pri 1s and Sec 1s, for schools welcoming new principals, and also for everyone else! And what better way to start than with the celebration of the Eucharist? ✝️💪

Here’s wishing everyone God’s blessing, guidance and grace to accompany us every day of this year! May 2026 truly be a Spirit-filled year for us all! 🙏✌️

MODEL ALTAR SERVER! 😇
Altar servers will probably be familiar with St John Berchmans as their patron saint 🙏 What may not be so widely known is that he wanted to be appointed an army chaplain after being ordained a priest so that he could give up his life in battle! ❤️‍🔥 However, he never made it to the priesthood – God had other plans for him 🌟

St John Berchmans, pray for us and especially for all altar servers! 🙏

AND THAT’S A WRAP! 🎁💝
These past 10 days, as the school year drew to a close, our primary schools have been celebrating and giving thanks to God in various ways – from CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace’s 70th anniversary Mass with Cardinal William Goh ✝️ and St Gabriel’s Primary School’s balloon rosary prayer 🎈 to St Stephen’s School year-end thanksgiving Mass 🙏 and CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel’s early Nativity celebration ✨ Indeed thanks be to God for his guidance and protection all through this school year! 🌟🎊

As we celebrate today the feast of St Cecilia, patron of music, musicians and singers 🎶 and as we mark the Jubilee of Choirs this weekend 🎵 we wish all our school choirs and music groups a blessed feast day and jubilee! May you continue to make beautiful music to praise and glorify the Lord! 🎺🎻

Have a safe, enjoyable and fruitful break, everyone! 😍😆
