A befriender supports catechists by providing one-to-one accompaniment to a person with special needs, attending to their guidance, physical, and/or emotional needs within the catechetical space. Audrey, a befriender at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, accompanies Bertrand, a child with autism, in his catechetical journey. Through her presence and friendship, Audrey becomes a bridge, helping Bertrand and his mother, Lavonne, experience God’s unconditional love and discover the joy of growing together in faith.
