Life’s Breakthrough (Romans 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 8:36)

Following from last Sunday’s theme, God’s Word, Our Transformation, we welcomed Pastor Simon Neo and his team from Breakthrough Mission. We had the privilege of hearing the Breakthrough Brothers share their life testimonies. They also sang heartfelt songs of thanksgiving composed by the brothers themselves. Pastor Simon Neo, Executive Director of Breakthrough Mission, then preached a powerful sermon on BREAKTHROUGHS IN LIFE: breakthrough from sin, from bo***ge, from hatred and from death. John 3:16 — Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” As we have received the blessings of the Lord, so let us go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in season and out of season! Teach others to listen to God and give their lives to Jesus.

May we each experience a life of breakthrough in Christ.

✨ A Weekend of Thanksgiving at YCCL ✨

This weekend, we give thanks above all to our Heavenly Father for His grace, provision, and faithfulness to YCCL.

On Teachers’ Day, we thank God especially for our Sunday School teachers, who faithfully nurture and care for our children. We are grateful for their patience, love, and commitment in teaching God’s Word and pointing the next generation to Jesus. May the Lord continue to strengthen and encourage them in this ministry.

We also thank and praise God for the Food Fair held last Sunday after service. It was a joyful time of feasting, fellowship, and serving together as one church family. We saw His goodness in the generosity, unity, and willingness of so many who contributed, prepared food, managed stalls, supported the event, and shared in the fellowship.

For every person who served, every gift that was given, and every moment of fellowship we enjoyed, we give thanks to our Heavenly Father.

To God be all the praise and thanksgiving.

God’s Word, My Transformation (Acts 7:57–58; 8:1; 9:1–18)

On the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Dr William Chang showed how Saul, once a fierce persecutor, was confronted by the living Christ and transformed into Paul, His chosen instrument. God’s living Word does more than inform us; it cuts between soul and spirit, exposes our innermost thoughts and desires, and transforms us. Lord Jesus, let Your Word engage us deeply and draw us into a deeper relationship with You.

Keys For A Locked World (Matthew 16:13–20)

On the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Allan Ng showed that many voices may speak about Jesus, but saving faith confesses Him as the Christ, revealed by the Father. Christ builds His Church and entrusts to it the keys of forgiveness, opening heaven to repentant sinners. Lord Jesus, reassure our hearts with Your forgiveness, strengthen our confession, and send us to open Gospel doors in a locked world.

Gospel Door to the Gentiles (Matthew 15:21–28)

On the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost, Brother Lim Geok Seng showed how Jesus opened the Gospel door beyond Israel, revealing that Gentiles too are welcomed by grace. The Canaanite woman came with no claim but mercy, and her persistent faith exposed the disciples’ narrow hearts. Through Christ’s cross and resurrection, the way is now open to all nations. Lord Jesus, we thank You for this good news; give us faith to respond to Your mercy.

Christ in the Storm (Matthew 14:22–33)

On the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Allan Ng reminded us that obedience to Christ does not guarantee a storm-free life, and fear can distort our vision. Yet Jesus comes as Lord over the storm, takes hold of sinking sinners, and brings them home. Our peace rests not on our grip on Him, but His grip on us. Lord Jesus, when we are sinking, teach us to cry, “Lord, save me.”

The Tyranny of the Not Enough (Matthew 14:13–21)

On the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Dr William Chang showed how lack of faith in God’s provision curves us inward and hinders us from following Jesus closely and properly. Yet Christ our Provider calls us to hand over the inadequate; the miracle happens in the hand-off as He blesses what we surrender. Lord Jesus, keep us from being bogged down by the “not enough”; be our sufficiency, that we may follow You closely and properly.

The Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 13:31–33, 44–52)

On the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, Brother Lim Geok Seng showed that the Kingdom of Heaven begins small and hidden, like mustard seed and leaven, yet works with life-changing power. In Christ, this Kingdom surpasses every earthly treasure and remains open in this time of grace. Lord Jesus, turn our hearts to the hidden power and supreme value of Your Kingdom, and keep us in You, whose names are written in the book of life.

Don’t Pull Up the Field Yet (Matthew 13:24–30, 36–43)

On the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Allan Ng reminded us that our hearts are like troubled fields, where sin and faith, fear and hope, still seem mixed together. Yet Christ, the Lord of the field, does not abandon us; He enters the field, bears judgement, and gives us hope until the harvest. Lord Jesus, unite our divided hearts, teach us patience and mercy, and make us shine in Your Kingdom.

An Unusual Sower (Matthew 13:1–9, 18–23)

On the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost, Reverend Dr William Chang showed that our hearts, like poor soil, cannot make themselves ready for God’s Word. Yet Christ, the unusual Sower, scatters His Word generously: the Law exposes our sin, and the Gospel gives forgiveness, repentance, and new growth. Lord Jesus, keep sowing Your Word in us, that we may hear, receive, and bear fruit by Your grace.
