Who or what sits on the throne of your heart? 👑

Like Pharaoh in Exodus 9, it’s easy to slip into building our own “Egypt of self” - relying on our status, achievements, or control to feel secure. But created things make a terrible refuge, and every human effort eventually falls short.

God often uses life's circumstances to expose and dethrone these false idols so we can return to Him.

Here’s a simple Prayer of Recollection you can pray today whenever you feel the urge to be in control:

1️⃣ Come as you are: "Lord, I come to You without masks, titles, or positions."

2️⃣ Confess your idols: Lay down your need to over-perform, control, or prove your worth.

3️⃣ Recollect your identity: "I am not defined by my achievements or failures. First of all, I am Your child - redeemed, loved, and accepted."

Hold your plans lightly, listen to God’s gentle nudges, and anchor your heart in the One who holds tomorrow.

Have you ever done what you believed God wanted you to do, only for things to get harder?

It’s easy to feel discouraged, like Moses did when Pharaoh doubled down on the Israelites, or like the disciples on the road to Emmaus who thought all hope was lost. But what they saw as defeat was actually God bringing about redemption.

When obedience meets disappointment, remember BRO:

Bring your real feelings to God - don't run away.

Remember His character and His promise over your current situation.

Obey faithfully, taking one small step at a time alongside a brother or sister in faith.

You don't need to see the whole story to trust the One who holds it. Take the next step today! 💡

God Doesn't Call the Capable - He Equips the Called

In Exodus 4, Moses presented list after list of reasons why he wasn't qualified to lead: Who am I? What if they don't believe me? I am not eloquent.

Have you ever felt the same way when facing a difficult task or stepping into a new season?

Here are 3 reminders from this Sunday’s message:

1) Focus on His Presence: When we ask "Who am I?", God responds with "I will be with you." It’s never about our ability, but His abiding presence.

2) Focus on Obedience: We are responsible for stepping out in obedience; God takes care of the results.

3) Trust His Sovereignty: Even in our struggles, uncertainties, and weaknesses, God does not make mistakes (Romans 8:28).

"It is well with my soul."

✨ Reflection for the Week: Is there an area of your life where you've been saying "Please send someone else"? How can you surrender that to God today?

Today, we celebrate World Senior Citizens’ Day and give thanks for the wisdom, faith and lives of our seniors in our church and community.

This weekend, we are delighted to welcome Dr Mark Chan, Professor of Systematic Theology at Trinity Theological College, as our guest speaker. He will be sharing from Psalm 121 on the theme “With God Through Time.”

Do invite any seniors, family members or friends who may be interested to join us. It will be a wonderful opportunity to hear God’s Word, spend time together and make new friends.

We look forward to seeing you this weekend! 🙏
