Hi, my name is Caleb. 👋🏻 I’m from PL Zone and I’ve been serving as a CGL for the past 6 years!
I first said “yes” to becoming a CGL during COVID-19, not knowing what God had in store.
Stepping into leadership has stretched me in many ways. During the lockdown when we couldn’t meet physically, I learned to play the guitar and sing at the same time to lead praise & worship online. 🎸🎤🗣️Preaching was another challenge as it was very different from normal public speaking. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Despite the challenges, the greatest fulfilment in being a CGL is seeing my members grow in God. Watching the youths mature, discover their calling, fall deeper in love with Jesus, and live wholeheartedly for Him is incredibly rewarding. I pray that they will encounter God personally, and I’m excited for God to move in their lives at the upcoming youth camp 🤩🙌🏻
Balancing school, work, ministry, and family is not easy. There were seasons, especially during NS, when I didn’t have much free time. In those moments, I learned an important lesson: that serving must come from an overflow of my relationship with God. Quiet time with Him became essential. I also made a commitment to serve wherever possible, as a CGL, in CWW Tuition, Prophetic Flagging, or CityWorship.
Leadership has helped me grow in confidence. Spiritually, I’ve developed a deeper love for being in the “secret place” with God and have come to truly enjoy being in His presence.
To anyone wondering if they’re “ready” to lead, my advice is simple: pray about it. More than having all the skills, what you really need is a big heart for people and a deep love for God ❤️
