Limbe Bureau Holiday Training Concludes

Today marks the successful conclusion of a five-week holiday training programme conducted by the Limbe Bureau. The programme provided participants with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop their understanding of various topics.

As part of the closing activities, a quiz was conducted to assess what the participants had learned throughout the five-week programme. The participants were divided into groups, with one group emerging as the overall winner.

The winning group was rewarded with books presented by the Limbe Bureau in recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment throughout the training.

Four Days of Learning and Empowerment as IIB Muslim Girls’ Camp 2026 Comes to an End

After four days of inspiring conversations, practical lessons and meaningful sisterhood, the IIB Youth Desk Muslim Girls’ Camp 2026 has come to a close in Lilongwe.

The camp brought together girls aged 14 to 25 under the theme “Rooted in Faith, Shaped by Character,” with participants engaging with speakers on leadership, education, health, entrepreneurship, human rights, technology, faith and personal development.

The final day focused on reflection and action, with participants developing personal commitments for life beyond the camp, followed by certificates, awards and a farewell programme.

The message was clear: the camp may be over, but the responsibility to grow, lead and make a difference begins now.

Hon. Khadija Chunga Inspires Young Muslim Women on Leadership at IIB Girls’ Camp 2026

The Islamic Information Bureau (IIB) Youth Desk Muslim Girls’ Camp 2026 continued today at Namaa Relief & Development in Lilongwe, with Hon. Khadija Chunga, Member of Parliament, engaging young Muslim women on the importance of leadership, confidence, vision and purpose.

Speaking under the session titled “Embracing Leadership: Cultivating Confidence, Vision and Purpose,” Hon. Chunga encouraged the girls, aged 14 to 25, to believe in themselves, develop a clear vision for their future and recognise their potential to make a positive difference in their communities.

She further emphasised the importance of confidence and purposeful leadership, encouraging the participants to embrace opportunities and prepare themselves for future leadership roles.

The session was part of the camp’s broader objective of empowering young Muslim women with knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to become confident and responsible leaders.

The four-day camp, organised by the IIB Youth Desk, is being held under the theme “Rooted in Faith, Shaped by Character” and brings together young Muslim women for sessions covering faith, leadership, education, health, human rights, entrepreneurship, resilience and personal development.

ISLAMIC INFORMATION BUREAU JOINS MAI AISHA TRUST FOR A GET-TOGETHER

Today, the Islamic Information Bureau (IIB) joins the Mai Aisha Trust (MAT) for a special get-together marking more than 25 years of service, commitment and impact.

The gathering brings together staff, partners, Islamic organisations, scholars, community leaders and other stakeholders to celebrate the journey of Mai Aisha Trust, reflect on its achievements and appreciate the collective efforts that have contributed to its growth and service to communities over the past 25 years.

For the Islamic Information Bureau, the get-together is also an opportunity to reflect on its journey and contribution as one of MAT’s key initiatives. Through Islamic education, community outreach, counselling, youth development and the dissemination of authentic Islamic information, IIB continues to contribute to the Trust’s mission of serving and empowering communities across Malawi.

The 25-year get-together is being held under the theme “Rooted in Sincerity, Defined by Honesty, Driven by Determination,” reflecting the values that continue to guide the work and commitment of Mai Aisha Trust and its various initiatives.

As we come together to celebrate this remarkable journey, the Islamic Information Bureau congratulates Mai Aisha Trust and all those who have contributed to its 25 years of service and impact.

Here’s to 25 years of service and to an even greater journey ahead.

Limbe Islamic Information Bureau has commenced a five-week holiday youth workshop today, 27 July 2026, aimed at providing young people with a meaningful platform for Islamic learning, character development, and leadership growth. The programme, which will run every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for two hours, is being conducted under the theme "Growing with Qur’an, Character and Leadership." It seeks to strengthen the youth’s connection with the Qur’an, nurture strong Islamic values, and equip them with essential leadership skills. Through interactive lessons, discussions, reflections, and practical activities, the workshop is expected to empower participants with knowledge, confidence, and positive values that will enable them to become responsible leaders and active contributors to their families and communities.

NANGAPOCHE VILLAGE CELEBRATES FORM 4 GRADUATION AS 44 STUDENTS COMPLETE SECONDARY EDUCATION

“LETTER TO ONESELF” COMPETITION INTRODUCED AT GRADUATION

We had to travel for almost 180 kilometres from Blantyre to the remote area of Mangochi to attend a memorable Form 4 graduation ceremony held at Nangapoche CDSS. The event marked the completion of secondary education for 44 students and attracted a strong turnout of community members, including Senior Chief Somba, Group Village Headmen, the area’s PEA, parents, and teachers.

A key reflection from the school’s journey showed that when it opened in 2022, 30 girls enrolled in Form 1, and only 14 of them successfully completed the full secondary cycle to graduation this year, highlighting both the challenges and resilience within rural education.

During the ceremony, representatives from Mai Aisha Trust introduced a “Letter to Oneself” competition, where students were encouraged to write reflective messages to their future selves to inspire discipline, vision, and goal-setting.

The graduates were also reminded that they will be sitting for their MSCE examinations from 24 June to 29 July, a crucial academic period that will shape their future education and career paths.

The event highlighted the importance of education, community support, and continued investment in young people as future leaders.
