God is my all in all: He Has a purpose for me
Jeremiah 20:17
Verse 17: "Because he did not kill me in the womb, that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb always enlarged with me." 18: "Why did I come forth from the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?"
This passage demonstrates that believers, even those set apart by God, can experience profound depression and are allowed to bring their deepest struggles and questions to the Lord.
Jeremiah was beaten and placed in stocks by Pashhur the priest for prophesying judgment on Judah.Emotional Distress: Despite his divine calling, the rejection and suffering caused him immense emotional and spiritual exhaustion.Honesty with God: This passage demonstrates that believers, even those set apart by God, can experience profound depression and are allowed to bring their deepest struggles and questions to the Lord.
As we serve the Lord we must be prepared to face rejection and opposition. The world will never like us.
John 15:18-25
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
We don't provoke the world but the nature of the gospel causes us to be hated.
However this doesn't keep us in hiding.
Verse 17: "Because he did not kill me in the womb, that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb always enlarged with me."
God did not destroy you while in the womb but allowed you to grow and be born because of His purpose for you in the world 🌎.
Even if the situation can be horrible, God has a promise and purpose for you. Don't get distracted. Stay focused and consumed with this plan of God. Get encouragement and strength from God. 1 Corinthians 15:57:"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." This is your strength.
